We were lucky to catch up with Padon Suber recently and have shared our conversation below.
Padon , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today I’m sure there have been days where the challenges of being an artist or creative force you to think about what it would be like to just have a regular job. When’s the last time you felt that way? Did you have any insights from the experience?
This year is my first year being fully self employed, and I love it. I used to be in the corporate field for years before I took the risk to chase my dream, and I hardly look back. Sometimes the funds aren’t the same, with a typical 8-5 you can guarantee a salary, but even still, working towards earning more within a career I’m good at while enjoying what I do keeps a smile on my face .
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I look and try to pin point when I first realized my love for music, but honestly music has always been around me, so its hard to answer. My first step toward be musician, started at maybe 6 or 7 , I played drums for my church along side my brother, who later introduce me to piano and trumpet. I have been in and out the music industry in between my high school years well into to college. I had the opportunity to be in the works with music world INC, and ACO management as a member of Mason rd. But the momentum never picked up for us at the time so I focused on honing my skills as a musician. I taught music classes for a few years after mastering several instruments, and began creating compositions and songs to add spice to the learning experience. I didn’t consider being an artist till 2019, my friends were the ones who heard the songs i created on garageband , and convinced me that people would listen. 4 years laters and I been acknowledged by Urban Influencers, my music has been played in 50 countries and counting. The growth of my production capabilities can be heard in my music chronologically, which brings me clients of all genre. Though I am a neo soul artist, I am well versed musically in all genres which give me the opportunity to create for all types or artist and captivate their voice over the right sound. Currently I produce, write, and compose for most local artist and filming directors, I have been in contact with clients abroad as well. My service also extend to live entertainment, I sing for special occasions and venues alike with full band accompaniment. As for my artistry, to my growing fan base, this only the beginning of the love I hope to spread with my music, I’m thankful for moment of the journey and to connect with you through my music!!!
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding thing to me as an artist, is to see the completion of my thoughts in the form of a song that people enjoy . They enjoy it because it not only sounds good but it conveys my feelings. In that moment, to hear someones interpretation of my music to be in align with my original thoughts, its amazing.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I’m still building my audience on social media. But I realized that the key is consistency. Be consistent in your content, your target audience, and be active. You will never be able to keep up the change algorithms but, your consistent presence will break through and slow but surely your audience will grow. So just create a steady pace and maintain that.
