We recently connected with Pachión R and have shared our conversation below.
Pachión, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?
Honestly, I wish I would’ve started my business early just because I would have a bit more knowledge about the fashion industry. I’m still learning as I go though, you learn something new every day. I started my business on May 10, 2021- The day I first became pregnant without even knowing. That’s why I will forever cherish the Pink Palace’s monthly/yearly anniversaries! Around May 2021, I had just graduated the prior year from Sam Houston State and had just became an Registered Behavior Technician under the state of Texas! With the help and encouragement from a very special person to me, I became motivated and inspired to begin my own business. I’ve always loved fashion! I knew that I could definitely pull something off. My dream and passion for the clothing industry is so warm. I literally love what I do! Helping women and men feel even more confident in their own skin is always my main goal. If I would’ve started a few years before 2021, I know by now- I’d be even better than I already am. I’ve spoke with many different fashion boutique owners who have fulfilled me with ever-lasting knowledge that I can also use to teach others. I am very grateful for each of them. If I could change anything, it would be the way I started. I wish I could’ve actually took the proper time out to educate myself more about what it is exactly that I am trying to do. Many losses have been taken, but the wins overpower them- always! That’s the best part about it.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Of course! I’ve always been into fashion. I’ve been an online fashion boutique owner for about 2 years now, but have been working in the fashion industry overall for about 3-4 years. Throughout junior high and high school, I was always complemented on my unique style. I was nominated for best dressed in 6th/7th grade as well. Now don’t get me wrong, I had my lazy days as well in school- don’t we all? “haha”. But overall, I was always put together. In college, I attended plenty of fashion shows and events with my close friends. That’s where I became more interested in being in the fashion industry. We would always dress to impress at every event that we attended. In 2021, I wanted to become my own boss. I realized that I really do not want to work for someone else forever. So, I started brainstorming ideas that I have a true passion for. Fashion clicked instantly. Around early May, I started putting my literal thoughts into action for the Pink Palace. I knew exactly what I wanted. I knew that I have always had a love for pink, forever obsessed with it. The first thing that I thought of was an all pink dollhouse for the pink lovers. Beginning my business, I was clueless. I didn’t do much research, I just jumped in head first with everything. I handmade shoes and accessories. I remember packaging my first order. I was so proud of myself, but I knew I had to turn it up a notch. In 2022, that’s where everything took off I feel like. My dolls walked in our very first fashion show, I participated in many pop-up shops, community events, model calls and fashion meetings with other fashion boutique owners. This year, I have been/will be participating in many women conferences, collaborations, and fashion shows! On my website, you will see that I have a few different collections. I have ‘Pretty in Pink’; which is where all of my pretty pink pieces are. I also have the ‘Dollhouse Drops’ collection; which is where all of my nude color and seasonal pieces are. I love everything about the fashion industry. My main goal is to provide love, warmth, and the best support to each and every person who shows up for and supports me in any way. From models and loyal clients to complete strangers who has shown love to the Palace in any way (liking a public post, sharing a public post, purchasing, recommending to a friend or family member) I appreciate you! Big or small, you’ve helped the brand become noticed in a way that you didn’t have to. That alone means so much to me, personally. I am proud of how far I’ve come in my business, but I am even more excited about where I am going with it.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I believe the biggest lesson that I had to unlearn when running a business is that everyone is going to support you. When I first came up with the idea of being an online fashion boutique owner, I was so excited! The first thing I did was send out text messages and make phone calls to a few of the most important people telling them about my new journey and how happy I was becoming a CEO! The feedback and vibes that I received were not expected. When I made my first public post about Pachion’s Pink Palace, I didn’t get any more than about 5 likes, maybe. I was in total shock. But, that just taught me to go harder. Now, I have the most support from people that I’ve only said 3-4 words to and I love it! That’s why I always say, keep going no matter what. I promise, your hard work and dedication never goes unnoticed.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I knew I had to push harder and change a few things in my fashion business when I found out that I was pregnant a few weeks after starting my business. I do all of the things that I do, not only because I love it- but because one day I know that this business will be my daughters. I want her to thrive in it, harder than I am. Having her makes me dream bigger and work harder. Being a mother and business owner can be a challenge, but I would not trade it for anything. Both make you want to be a better woman every day. She is my all around motivation and I owe her nothing less than the entire universe!
