We recently connected with Pablo Aragona and have shared our conversation below.
Pablo, appreciate you joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
In 2008 I did my first contract working for Royal Caribbean as a Cruise ship musician. It was a fantastic and unforgettable experience. I traveled the world for 7 months and played for a huge audience every night. After my contract ended I decided to go back to Argentina and start working as a music teacher and have a “normal” life! lol
I was working in a couple of great Music Schools, playing and recording with many different artists and also teaching in a very renowned High School. My friends and family were aware of how hard I worked for many years in order to achieved all that and even though I was enjoying the life style I was having, I knew that something was missing, something was not right.
After many months thinking about different options, I chose to send and email to the same Musician Specialist of Royal Caribbean International that hired me ten years before and after a few weeks my new contract was ready as well as my passport and my expectations. In spite of the surprise of my family, friends, colleges and students, I knew that was the right decision for me and nobody would make me change my mind about it, sometimes I am very stubborn!
Now, looking back I realize that sometimes good decisions are important but timing is also a really important factor. You can take huge risks but timing is crucial. Because of that risk I took in 2018 I did not one but three contracts, I got to work as a Musical Director and I also met my wife Hayley who was also working on the same cruise ship as a figure ice skater.
In 2019, working for Royal Caribbean, I got to visit five continents on the same year and in 2020 right after the pandemic started I moved to the US where I live now with my wife and my little dog Niblet.
Life is full of obstacles and surprises and we make decisions and take risks pretty often, but if you believe in you and you are humble and perseverant, those risks are easier to take and decision making is just a way to confirm that you are on the right path to make your dreams come true.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I started playing music and taking music lessons when I was 10 years old, my dad plays guitar and he is a music conductor, he has his own choir so music was part of my life since I was born. I play piano, guitar & bass but drums is my main instrument. I played, recorded and toured with many prestigious musicians from Argentina and I also worked as a drummer and Music Director on cruise ships with singers, dancers and musicians from all over the world.
I played in many Musical Theaters productions and I thought drums and music Masterclasses for many years.
Nowadays I work as a music producer in Winter Park Florida, I have my own recording studio and I write, record and mix music for different artists.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I am blessed because I found my passion for music at a very early age, I didn’t have to deal with the uncertainty and the struggle that many of my friends experienced back then when they had to decide to go to college or to find a job. I knew exactly that It was related to the music industry without a doubt, I just didn’t know how to make it happen. The most rewarding aspect of being an artist and a creative artist is that I work with passion and excitement every day of my life, I wake up in the morning and I am excited about the things that I will do through the day and the plans I have for the future. Of course sometimes it is hard and the road is not always perfect, but overall and after more than 22 years of working as a musician, performer and music producer I still get excited about my job and I am always looking forward to get better at it and to be the best version of myself.

: Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
When I am writing a new song or working on new music for another artist I always consider recording and creating the kink of music that I like to listen to. I try to connect with the story behind the song, the lyrics and the vibe of the song. That is my main goal and my mission, to be creative and share new and exciting music as much as I can, whether it is when I work as a music producer for someone else but also when I play a live performance with any of my music projects.
The best compliment to me, is when right after one of the performances someone tells me they had a great time and they connected with the music in a magical way.
