BIO:
Who is P-Shellz AKA Lenz Paschall? Is he a rapper? Is he a producer? Well he’s both; and equally proficient respectively.
Hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, often referred to as Bodymore, MurdaLand for reasons we can all conclude; Lenz takes decades of life experience as an artist, producer, father, husband, and business man and weaves them into sonically pleasing soundscapes the masses from all walks can relate to.
One enthusiastic fan described his style as “…what you’d get if you dropped J. Cole and Freddie Gibbs into a blender and added Sean Price for extra flavoring.”With Shellz’ feet planted in both the hood as well as the corporate sector, it’s fairly easy to visualize the mash-up.
When the artist was asked what he thought his music sounded like, he confidently stated ‘I sound like the cool uncle that taught Drizzy everything he knows.’
P-Shellz has 4 full length projects available on all major platforms. His forthcoming album, THE FIVE HARDBEATS, will be released early 2024 and the preliminary screening was BANANAS!
Please take some time and experience Shellz’ vivid roller coaster ride, from a grown man that has survived one of the country’s most complex inner cities….BALTIMORE.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
My biggest obstacle as a hip hop artist is Ageism. Being 50, many listeners are automatically turned off and tend to be ‘judgey’ . This use to bother me alot because it never made sense to me. The audience isn’t too old to enjoy it but the artist is too old to create it. It’s a very hypocritical perspective. It doesn’t effect me nearly as much currently. If you make dope music, people will seek it and enjoy it; no matter the age.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
This is a short, easy answer. The response from the audience or listeners is the ultimate reward. Whenever I run into people at shows or on podcasts and they tell me the songs they love, or which ones bang hard in their rides. That’s better than any award you can receive. It’s the most authentic reward.
