We caught up with the brilliant and insightful OzUnique Moore a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
OzUnique, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
A life-changing risk I took was deciding to pursue cosmetology full-time. At the time, I was working traditional 9-to-5 jobs, but I quickly realized they didn’t align with my schedule, creativity, or long-term goals. The structure felt limiting, and most employers weren’t willing to accommodate the flexibility I needed to grow in my craft.
Choosing cosmetology meant stepping away from the security of a steady paycheck to build something of my own. It was a big decision because entrepreneurs are pretty rare in my family, most of us have always stuck to the safe route. But I wanted to change that pattern and create a new path where our talents and creativity could actually make history.
Taking that risk taught me independence, time management, and how to handle uncertainty. It pushed me to believe in my vision and showed me that following your passion can open doors that playing it safe never would.”

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Oz’Unique Moore, and I’m the owner of Aries Bratz Collection. I specialize in hair and makeup, and I also sell fashionable items like bathing suits, stylish glasses, and custom beaded bracelets — making my business a true one-stop shop for beauty and self expression.
I’ve been in the beauty industry for about five years, and during that time, I’ve seen trends evolve from simple styles to bold, creative looks. What sets me apart is the personalized experience I provide. I move at a comfortable, convenient pace, and I make sure every client leaves fully satisfied and confident.
Recently, now that I’m 23, I’ve been focused on rebranding my business to reflect my growth and versatility. In March, I also expanded my creative brand by starting a music career. Both my beauty work and my music share the same goal; to empower others through confidence, creativity, and individuality. I truly love what I’ve built and want to continue showing appreciation to my supporters in new, exciting ways.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
What really helped me build my reputation was my genuine commitment and consistency. I make it a priority to stay connected with my clients beyond just providing a service. I let them see parts of my personal life, my hobbies, my aesthetic, and my creative process.
By constantly posting and promoting myself, I was able to create trust and familiarity with my audience. They don’t just see the finished look they see the passion behind it. That transparency, paired with hard work and professionalism, is what built my clientele and reputation over time. Hard work never goes unnoticed, and I believe showing up consistently and authentically keeps people invested in both me and my brand.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has honestly been just being myself. Authenticity attracts people when you’re genuine about your passion, it shows. I’ve never tried to copy anyone else’s style or approach; I focus on bringing my own personality and creativity into everything I do, whether it’s doing hair, promoting my work online, or connecting with clients in person.
People are drawn to real energy. I think that’s why my clientele continues to grow. They know what to expect from me, they trust me, and they feel comfortable coming back. Staying consistent, professional, and authentic has been the best strategy I could ever use.
