We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Oversaturated The Podcast. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Oversaturated below.
Hi Oversaturated, thanks for joining us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
Simply by trial and error. Getting into creative spaces you must first be comfortable with yourself and the content itself. Learning your opinion is always different from others. Speeding up the learning process doesn’t necessarily yield the best results. Instant success doesn’t lead to revelations that will help you become better as a creator. Pride often times is the biggest obstacle. You must be willing to learn and adapt along your creative journey. Don’t let pride hinder you from growth.
Oversaturated, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Oversaturated: The Podcast is based on Friendship. The Podcast is a weekly podcast where two friends, Johnnie and Ralph, discuss Music, Movies, Pop Culture and Everything In Between. They are both originally from East Saint Louis, IL. These lifelong friends decided to take their often thought-provoking conversations/debates to a larger platform. The name Oversaturated: The Podcast is a double entendre for them. Oversaturated because of the current podcast market, and Oversaturated because of the array of topics they cover.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
Remember to put yourself in your content. The viewer/consumer of your content does not view just to hear you do what everyone else does. Put as much of your personality into your product as possible. We guarantee that’s how you’d stand apart from the pack.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. We’ve had to deal with learning how to accept all criticisms, especially constructive. Also, dealing with rejections and not receiving the full support of family or friends. Sometimes business dealings didn’t work out. The struggle from the beginning of having a proper setup and how it all works together. Neither one of us had a background in audio/visual techniques before the start of this podcast. Now we’d like to think we’re somewhere between intermediate and expert on this.
