Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ostarè Dubois. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Ostarè thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?
The genesis of my creative services business stemmed from a profound personal journey marked by intensive medical treatments and surviving major car accidents. These challenges deeply impacted my perspective and had me examine myself deeply, prompting a shift from pop artist to aligning my artistic career with my trainings as a life coach focused on personal and spiritual growth.
As a pop artist, I initially found fulfillment in creating music that resonated with audiences on a surface level. However, the trials I faced forced me to delve deeper into the power of storytelling not just for entertainment, but as a transformative tool for healing and connection.
Through my own recovery process, I discovered the therapeutic impact of sharing personal narratives. This realization led me to expand beyond music into life coaching, where I could guide others through similar challenges and help them find meaning and strength in their own stories.
The decision to pivot towards life coaching was both intuitive and strategic. It allowed me to fuse my artistic background with a newfound passion for personal development, creating a holistic approach to creativity and healing.
Incorporating life coaching into my creative services business was a natural evolution that expanded my horizons beyond music. It influenced my songwriting, infusing deeper introspection and emotional resonance into my lyrics. This shift not only enriched my artistic expression but also broadened my impact, reaching audiences seeking more than just entertainment but genuine connection and inspiration.
My creative services business is now a platform where personal and spiritual growth intersect with artistic expression. It’s a testament to the belief that storytelling, in all its forms, has the power to heal, inspire, and connect us on a profound level.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My journey began after a severe injury and the loss of my father, who was a minister and instilled in me a belief in God. Despite living in LA and distancing myself from spirituality, a major car accident left doctors baffled at my survival, along with severe bodily numbness due to my nervous system being in emergency mode. Initially angry at intoxicated drivers, I questioned why I, a non-drinker, was involved.
I pursued extensive personal growth training and became highly effective as a coach, dedicating myself to volunteering. People were drawn to the gifts I credited to a higher purpose, realizing my every action was to fulfill a greater plan. My faith stemmed from the belief that if Jesus was resurrected, I too could find renewal and purpose. Reading the Bible became the biggest source of my strength during this time. Regardless of personal beliefs, I found solace and strength in aligning with my faith. Facing baldness 28 times to survive was a testament to my resilience; I embraced healing by no longer blaming others and instead prioritizing health and purpose.
My journey, marked by resilience and faith, has shaped my identity as a brand dedicated to empowering others through personal growth and storytelling. At the heart of my work is a commitment to guiding individuals through challenges, fostering clarity, and nurturing meaningful connections. What sets my approach apart is a fusion of artistic expression with transformative coaching, grounded in the belief that each person’s story holds power and purpose. I invite readers to explore my brand not only for its dedication to healing and empowerment but also for its unwavering commitment to honoring the journey toward personal and spiritual fulfillment.
I share my story not to influence or seek attention but to connect with others facing life’s challenges. Just as a surgeon can’t operate on their own heart, I offer tools and insights gained from personal struggles to guide others through emotional and spiritual healing. From navigating rapid highs and lows, I’ve learned the importance of nurturing the mind, body, and spirit. Trusting in God’s plan transformed my perspective from blame to empowerment, inspiring others to become the heroes of their own lives.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Looking back on my journey, I’ve come to appreciate the profound impact of the people we surround ourselves with and the environments we inhabit. When we align with individuals who share our values and support our growth, we find ourselves on a path to success and fulfillment. Conversely, environments that contradict our values often leave us feeling disconnected and misunderstood, especially during health issues or vulnerable moments.
the importance of spirituality, and in my own experience, I’ve found great strength and clarity in reading the Bible correctly and staying true to my authentic self and mission. It’s been a guiding light, offering timeless wisdom and grounding me in my beliefs and purpose.
Additionally, I’ve learned the importance of surrendering to healing my inner child earlier in my journey. Addressing past wounds and embracing vulnerability has been transformative, allowing me to nurture a deeper sense of self-awareness and compassion.
Finding the right coaches has also been crucial. They’ve provided invaluable guidance and perspective, helping me navigate challenges and amplify my strengths. Their support has been instrumental in refining my coaching approach and enhancing my ability to empower others.
In essence, my journey has taught me that surrounding myself with supportive individuals, staying aligned with my values and purpose, and embracing healing and growth are essential to personal and professional fulfillment.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One of the most challenging and transformative periods of my life was when I faced a series of health crises that tested my resilience to the core. I underwent intensive medical treatments and surgeries—going bald 28 times and struggling to revive my nervous system—all while grappling with the crushing burden of uncovered medical expenses and financial disaster.
During this time, I found myself surrounded by toxic behaviors and negative influences that only deepened my struggles. There were moments when I felt overwhelmed, even praying for relief from the pain and hardship. It was then that I encountered a beacon of hope in an unexpected place.
Through the connections of Mickey Stevenson, the first A&R of Motown, I met Pastor Vernon at St. Paul Methodist Church in Tarzana. His compassion and spiritual guidance were a lifeline during my darkest hours. His prayers and words of encouragement reminded me of God’s grace and mercy, renewing my faith and giving me the strength to persevere.
Despite the immense challenges and setbacks, this journey taught me profound lessons about resilience, faith, and the power of community support. It’s a story of overcoming adversity, finding light in the darkness, and discovering inner strength I never knew I possessed. Today, I am grateful for each day and committed to sharing my journey of resilience to inspire others facing their own battles.
Recently, I discovered a profound sense of community and renewal at BBC in Brentwood Church. During my recovery, singing in worship services became a sanctuary. I had the privilege of singing alongside worship minister Travis Cottrell and sharing the stage with acclaimed artists like Michael W Smith, Michael Tait, and others. This included performances at prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall, which felt like a miracle in itself. The church not only provided spiritual nourishment but also tangible support—members helped me transition to a new home with grace and warmth.
Now, I’m writing a book aimed at inspiring others with the lessons I’ve learned along my journey. I’ve also recently released a song titled “Mess, made it through.” This song speaks to giving ourselves grace when we face challenges and taking responsibility to clean up our messes. Life’s journey is messy, filled with highs and lows, and it reminds us that stillness is not living. Embracing life means understanding that nothing lasts forever and that no pain is permanent.
In sharing my story, I hope to convey the message that judgment, whether towards us or others, does not lead to victory. Instead, compassion and honesty are essential first steps towards overcoming obstacles and reaching new heights.
