We were lucky to catch up with O’Shane Whyte recently and have shared our conversation below.
O’Shane, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
The name Pillow wears came from given a true definition of what the product is and does which is simplifying comfort in a convenient style and way for users anywhere you go. So the name showcases the what the pillow and blanket is all about, how it is used and why a customer would want and love this product.


Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
O’Shane Whyte is a Jamaican born who grow up and had a love for entrepreneurship which he adapted from his parents. His father was also an entrepreneur and had multiple business where he learnt most of the skill set. At the age of 16, O’Shane opened his first business A Curbside Pickup Record Shop which was a success and empowered him with more business knowledge. That previous experience lead him to his second business opportunity, A Dog Grooming/Breeding Service. At the age of 24 O’Shane migrated to the United States to finish his education and graduated from American Intercontinental University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management, concentration in Marketing and Sales.
That spirit of entrepreneurship kept on growing in him which created the birth of his third company called Pillow wears. Pillow wears are travel wearable Pillows and blankets came about from a dream to create products that are useful, comfortable and portable. It all started from his home in his living room where he kept falling asleep on the couch and as time went on the living room became much too overbearing with all the pillows and blankets. It was a mess, pillows and blankets piled up like mini mountains all over the living room thus the idea grew for a need to fix this issue.
Within a few years of hard work and dedication he managed to build an idea, create a prototype and assembled a final selling product which has been very much loved by the public. He has sold out of stock several times already because of all the support which he is greatly appreciative of. O’Shane stated “Getting this item into the hand of the people and to see and hear all the positive feedback of this product is amazing and with continues support and my passionate creativity I will continue to give the world comfort a day at a time”. On this long-term journey his mission is to give back to others, work with my community and change lives with love and comfort. This idea is very relatable to many people which solves a problem to the masses by creating more convenience for people, undisturbed comfort by allowing one to have that easy access of comfort-ability anywhere in your home and even on the go.


Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
So far it has been word of mouth just talking to people going door to door, working with business to customized the company names and logo. These satisfied customers then tell or showcase to other people telling them about the product and the work I have done. I have also started to make connection with my customers through my website http://www.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
So far I feel social media is a great way to help grow the brand because there are so many users on these platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Tik tok, Pinterest. This can be a great way to promote and show the product to all ages, group or interest wish could possible go viral or could be trending topic by people sharing what they see and love.
