We were lucky to catch up with Oryhia Sherman recently and have shared our conversation below.

Oryhia, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?

When creating my business name I started off with so many other names , colors and niches. When starting I thought I would base it off of just baking but then I explored the creativity of doing hair and loved it , I started off slow and gradually started to establish what I wanted my name to be because I wanted to include everything I loved to do in one , such as content creating , baking, & hair as well. I have so many things I wanna include in the future so EverythingRyhia is the name I decided to stick with for my brand and I’m excited to see how far I go , hopefully expanding a marketing team and more !

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

My name is oryhia Sherman , I’m a small business owner in the making. I started establishing my business when I was in middle school to high school. Baking has been something I’ve loved to do since the age of 7 and I’ve expanded it more and more throughout the years. At the beginning of my senior year of high school is when I started establishing my business to be heard by bigger audiences and since I’ve started my content creator journey on YouTube and TikTok. Baking has always been my passion but before I got to that point I started my entrepreneurship journey by selling snacks at school along with lipgloss but I knew that’s not what I was meant to do so I started doing something I would do for free which is baking , after that I started gravitating toward hair as well and ever since I’ve loved owning a small business and hope to expand soon ! My business is based of the sole of helping others as well , I wanna help people start their own small business and grow as well .

How did you build your audience on social media?

When I started trying to expand my business I did in person marketing , making flyers , business cards , and posters and that helped me grow so much as well as verbally , I always talk about my business because it’s something I’m very proud of , then I started expanding to social media by making flyers on canva and marketing to others as well as having others post my content as well. I’ve always had a platform on instagram so I used it to help portray my business account as well , with the help of a few ads being ran. It just starts with patience , everything doesn’t happen over night so I was very patient with expanding my business.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

I’ve had so many mess up’s and times where I wanted to give up because I thought that nobody would really support my business because they would always ask for free things etc but then I gained the mindset of just sticking with my business until it grew to the position I wanted it to. I had to continue the journey of posting posting posting, marketing to others & helping myself with my business. when starting my business I was very down about it because I didn’t know where to start but I learned that , you just gotta start. Even if it’s making samples of something an making a video letting someone taste test that’s content you can post to grow your business, so I just had to come up with many ideas and ways to grow myself and my business as well.
