We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Orchestrate96 a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Orchestrate96, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you take us back in time to the first dollar you earned as a creative – how did it happen? What’s the story?
I made my first dollar from music in 2018 from a song called Dirty Dance. The song was a collaborative effort between me and a friend, Joseph. I remember it being both empowering and exciting. I vividly recall Joseph calling me on the phone, exhilarated about it as well. Joseph and I imagined how much money we could have made if we promoted the song even more. I would love to experience that feeling again if I could.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a recording artist from Houston, TX. I got into music recording during my sophomore year in college. I had just transferred schools and needed to do something outside my comfort zone. I started messing around with sports and arts. I created a YouTube channel thinking I would be a music producer. One thing led to another, I turned out becoming a recording artist. I like to believe my cadence sets me apart from other artists. My songs have a vibe that nobody else I know can replicate. That is why I am proud to showcase a new album to the public by August 2022. The album is called Money Baby. It is my best work yet.
Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Recording music is crucial but, having industry knowledge and connections is just as important. They both go hand in hand. I conveniently ignored the importance of industry connections in the foundation of my career in 2018 and the better part of 2019. I wish I had established connections earlier. It would have saved so much time, effort, and income.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The recognition.
