Hi OPshun, thanks for joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

My mission as a Recording Artist is to spread knowledge and encouragement with a trendsetting sound within my music.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

Dallas based recording artist OPshun has an extraordinary way of cutting straight through to the core of his listener’s emotions. With a passion for music running through his veins from an early age, OPshun’s
fervent lyrics and sparkling melodies expose a truly sensitive artist whose soul-shattering vocals have the
power to provoke a profound sound. OPshun’s newly released single “I Found A Way” was just released with a trending video done by videographer Creative Ryan. OPshun has also been featured on popular social media blogs/sites. He is one of the most influential artists in his birth town Alexandria, LA with a unique
sound. OPshun is on the rise with offers from some of the biggest record label companies in the music industry today, but he’s focused on building and growing independently as a Recording Artist.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

A lesson I had to learn and unlearn as an artist, and also personally was to stop running from my true identity, and go head to head with anything I was facing. Most of us today without us even realizing use some sort of escape to ignore the pain we endure. What we don’t realize is that everything in the dark must come to light. As an artist and personally I became sober, and dealt with my demons face to face and now I can think and see clearly.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

My advice to those just starting to build and audience for your brand as an artist on social media is to first find out who’s your fan base and what can you offer them. You’re the brand, your song is part of your brand but overall you are the brand. For example your fan base might be into gaming, so do a give away or something of that sort with gaming. If they click your link tell them to like and comment a gaming emoji under the post to be admitted into the drawing. You have to be creative and engage with your fan base.
