We were lucky to catch up with Omar Sicilia recently and have shared our conversation below.
Omar, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your creative career sooner or later?
When I was 22 years old, I wanted to write the most beautiful and profound songs in the world, but to write songs we need to live, one day I asked a writer if it was normal that in 3 months, I had not written any song and he answered this: ”You are doing something more important, you are living, if you don’t live you can’t write songs”, at that moment I didn’t understand it, I thought he answered like that just to end the conversation, but I realized that the songs I wrote after that were more about me, or about people around me, I think you need experiences to write songs, tell stories, even to predict the future you need experience, that’s why a songs can connect and move different generations, so I don’t believe in that of starting sooner or later, at least not in music, it would been impossible when I was 22 years old write what I have written in the last 5 years.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
When I listen to music, I can do things that only superheroes in movies can do, I close my eyes and I can go anywhere, music makes me a better person, it gives me unlimited love and freedom. Just imagining that my music can give others those sensations makes me want to not leave the recording studio until I produce something that people can use as a protective shield from all the bad things out there.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Love is the answer, that’s still the lesson that everyone should learn, that’s why it’s the title of my album, that’s the difference between bad people and good people, that’s the difference between people who have a shitty life and those who have found happiness, LOVE
