Omaima, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?

After graduating from engineering school and entering the corporate world, I realized that outside of my working hours, I felt an overwhelming sense of boredom and dissatisfaction with the routine. It struck me that life had to offer more, and I yearned for a fulfilling hobby that would keep me excited beyond my workout and gym sessions. Driven by a natural inclination toward creativity and a desire to connect with others, I decided to take a leap into the world of vlogging. Choosing to share my experiences in my native language, Moroccan-Darija, I aimed to showcase the life of a young professional living in the United States. I picked up a new hobby as well – UAV Drone Videography. This element added a visually appealing touch to all my content that leaves people excited for more. Through my vlogs, I sought to bring viewers along on my travels, share daily routines, and offer glimpses into the warmth of my family life!

My name is Omaima Doghmi, an energetic individual with a diverse background in mechanical engineering, marketing, and a lifelong passion for creativity! After earning my engineering degree at Boston University and delving into the corporate world, I realized there was more to life than the 9-to-5 routine. Seeking a fulfilling outlet and a way to share my experiences, I found my calling in the vibrant world of vlogging in early 2022.

I bring a unique perspective to my content by taking you on a journey through my life as a young professional navigating life in the United States. What sets my work apart is the genuine connection I establish with my audience and the motivation I leave others with. Speaking in my native language, Moroccan-Darija, adds an authentic touch to my storytelling. Through long-form and short vlogs, I showcase my travels, daily routines, and the warmth of my family life.

As a UAV drone pilot, I incorporate drone videography into my content as much as I can, offering a visually captivating perspective and a technical touch to my creatives!

What am I most proud of? My ability to inspire and connect with others. My work goes beyond showcasing a lifestyle; it’s about encouraging individuals to pursue their passions, break free from routine, and embrace creativity. I aim to solve the problem of monotony in the everyday, offering a glimpse into a life filled with exploration, cultural richness, and personal growth! The mindset is key to reaching your goals and I try to push this message out as much as I can- you are what you believe!

In addition to my creative pursuits, I bring over 13 years of experience as a USAG Gymnast. This background has instilled discipline, resilience, and a commitment to excellence, qualities that permeate through everything I do. My brand is built on authenticity, creativity, and a genuine love for connecting with people. Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

Certainly, let’s delve into the lesson of unlearning perfectionism and embracing authenticity:

In the early stages of my content creation journey, I found myself grappling with the need for perfection. Every video, every post had to meet an unattainable standard in my mind. I spent hours meticulously editing, refining, and doubting my work, all in the pursuit of flawlessness. It was exhausting, and the fear of judgment from others paralyzed my creativity.

The turning point came when I realized that this quest for perfection was hindering rather than enhancing my creative expression. It was holding me back from truly connecting with my audience. I had to unlearn the notion that everything had to be flawless and that everyone would always approve.

The backstory lies in the countless hours spent agonizing over details that, in reality, didn’t matter as much as I thought. I began to observe that some of the most engaging and beloved content out there wasn’t perfect—it was authentic. People resonate with genuine stories, real moments, and relatable experiences.

I made a conscious decision to shift my focus from perfection to authenticity. I started just posting, not caring as much about others’ opinions. I allowed myself to be vulnerable, to share the imperfect moments, the behind-the-scenes, and the raw realities of life. This change in approach not only liberated me creatively but also deepened the connection with my audience!

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

One of the most rewarding aspects of being a content creator and creative soul is the unparalleled sense of freedom and the myriad of opportunities that come with it. The ability to shape and share my unique perspective with the world has been incredibly empowering.

A standout opportunity in my journey was being part of the cast for Netflix’s Squid Game: The Challenge. This experience allowed me to delve into the behind-the-scenes intricacies of a major production and witness the incredible talent and stories that unfold in the casting process. Being a part of the cast was both exhilarating and humbling.

The world of content creation opens doors to unexpected and thrilling ventures, providing a platform to explore diverse projects and connect with like-minded individuals. Working with other brands has been a key aspect of this journey, allowing me to collaborate with diverse and innovative companies, each experience contributing to my growth as a creator.
