We were lucky to catch up with Om Yadav & Yash Vishwakarma recently and have shared our conversation below.
Om Yadav & Yash Vishwakarma , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about the early days of establishing your own firm. What can you share?
THE EARLY DAYS — Starting & Building Yavi Media
When Yash and I decided to start Yavi Media, we didn’t have a blueprint. We had skills from years of creating content — graphic design, video editing, social media — and a belief that we could turn those into a real business. That was the starting point.
The first steps were simple but necessary. We picked a direction (marketing services), built an Instagram page for Yavi Media, and started learning everything we could — Facebook ads, Google ads, outreach, and sales. We didn’t wait until we felt “ready.” We started showing up and figuring it out as we went.
Then came the hard part — getting that first client. Within a month we landed a small e-commerce brand. We were excited but completely inexperienced. The deal fell apart over a payment issue, we refunded the money, and the client disappeared. That was our first real lesson: enthusiasm doesn’t replace systems.
The biggest challenge in the early days wasn’t money — it was the silence. Months of daily outreach with almost no response. No case studies, no proof, no positioning. We sounded like two freelancers instead of a real agency, and that made everything harder. We tried different niches — e-commerce, real estate — and nothing clicked. We kept selling “ads” when business owners actually cared about one thing: revenue.
The turning point was the decision to specialize. We narrowed our entire focus to painting and home service contractors and rebuilt our offer around results, not services. That single decision changed everything. We closed a client, treated their campaign like a mission, and generated $37,000 in revenue in the first month. That became our first real case study — and proof changed how everyone saw us.
Would I do anything differently? Yes. I would have niched down from day one. We wasted close to a year trying to serve everyone and mastering no one. The moment we got specific, things started working. I’d also tell my younger self to build systems earlier instead of operating like a freelancer chasing random clients.
My advice for any young person thinking about starting their own firm:
First — start before you feel ready. You’ll never feel ready. You learn by doing, failing, and adjusting.
Second — pick one niche and go deep. Being a generalist feels safer, but specialists win. The narrower your focus, the easier it is to stand out, charge more, and actually deliver results.
Third — get proof as fast as possible. One strong case study is worth more than a year of cold pitching. Land one client, over-deliver, and turn that result into your story.
Fourth — and most important — don’t quit during the silent phase. The hardest part isn’t failure. It’s doing the work consistently when nothing seems to be happening. Almost everyone gives up there. The ones who stay consistent long enough are the ones who eventually break through.
That’s exactly what happened with Yavi Media. The early days were uncertain, frustrating, and slow. But every one of those struggles forced us to get better — and built the foundation for everything we’ve created since.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Om Yadav, co-founder of Yavi Media, a marketing agency I built with my childhood friend Yash Vishwakarma. We help painting and home service contractors get consistent, high-quality jobs through a complete, AI-driven marketing system.
How I got into this: Before Yavi Media, Yash and I spent a long time creating content online. We didn’t realize it at the time, but that period quietly gave us real skills — graphic design, video editing, and an understanding of how attention works on social media. When we decided to turn those skills into a business, marketing was the natural path. We started Yavi Media with no clients and no track record — just the belief that we could build something real if we stayed consistent long enough.
The early days were rough. We struggled for over a year — failed clients, constant rejection, almost no results. But that struggle forced us to figure out what actually works. The breakthrough came when we stopped trying to serve everyone and committed fully to one industry: painting and home service contractors.
What we provide: Yavi Media builds complete client acquisition systems for contractors. Most agencies stop at running ads and handing over leads. We go much further. Our system:
Generates high-intent leads through targeted Facebook and Google ads
Qualifies those leads automatically
Follows up instantly, 24/7
Books appointments directly into our clients’ calendars
So instead of contractors chasing leads or dealing with no-shows, they get ready-to-close appointments handed to them. They show up and close the deal — we handle everything before that point.
The problem we solve: Most contractors live and die by referrals and word of mouth. When referrals slow down, their calendar empties and revenue drops. We replace that unpredictability with a consistent, reliable system that brings in booked jobs every month — regardless of season or referrals.
What sets us apart:
First, we specialize. We work only with painting and home service contractors. That focus means we deeply understand the industry, the customers, and what actually drives booked jobs — not just clicks.
Second, our AI-driven system. The difference between a “lead” and a “booked revenue opportunity” is everything, and our system is built to deliver the second one.
Third, exclusivity. We work with only one contractor per city. No competing campaigns, no shared leads, full attention on each client’s growth.
What I’m most proud of: That Yavi Media became a real, system-driven business instead of just another agency. We don’t rely on luck or trends. We rely on proven processes, data, and constant optimization. We’ve had campaigns generate over $37,000 in revenue in the first month, and one that produced around $42,000 from just $2,000 in ad spend. Our clients typically see 8x to 10x ROI. Today, Yavi Media is doing around $78,000 a month — but honestly, the proof that the system works matters more to me than the number.
What I want potential clients to know: Yavi Media is built for business owners who are serious about growth. If someone just wants cheap leads, we’re probably not the right fit. But if they want a reliable system that consistently brings in real jobs and real revenue, that’s exactly what we deliver. We’re not here for short-term wins — we’re here to build long-term success with the right clients.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The single most effective strategy for us has been specialization combined with proof.
For a long time, we tried to grow by reaching out to anyone and everyone — e-commerce brands, real estate agents, all kinds of businesses. It barely worked. We were spread too thin and we sounded like generalists, which made it hard for anyone to trust us.
Everything changed when we narrowed our focus to one specific industry — painting and home service contractors — and then turned our first real result into a case study.
That case study became our most powerful growth tool. When we could show a potential client “we generated $37,000 in revenue in the first month for a contractor just like you,” the conversation completely changed. We weren’t selling promises anymore. We were showing proof.
From there, growth came from a simple but consistent system:
First, we let results do the talking. Real case studies and real numbers built trust faster than any sales pitch ever could. Contractors believe other contractors’ results.
Second, we stayed narrow. Because we focus only on painting and home service businesses, every new client makes us better at serving the next one. Our messaging, our ads, and our systems are all sharpened for one industry — so we stand out instantly to the right people.
Third, we focused on delivering outcomes, not just services. When clients get real booked jobs and strong ROI, they refer others and stick around long-term. Quality results create more clients on their own.
If I had to sum it up: stop trying to be for everyone, get genuinely good at solving one specific problem for one specific type of client, and let your results become your marketing. That’s what actually grew our clientele.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
For us, brand loyalty comes down to one thing — results and communication. If you consistently make a client money and keep them in the loop, they stay.
The biggest way we foster loyalty is by treating every client like a long-term partner, not a transaction. Because we work with only one contractor per city, each client gets our full attention. They’re never competing with another business we represent in their market, and that exclusivity builds real trust.
In terms of staying in touch, we focus on a few things:
Regular updates on what matters. Clients don’t want to be flooded with marketing jargon. They want to know one thing — are we bringing in jobs? So we keep communication clear and focused on results: leads generated, appointments booked, revenue driven. When a client always knows exactly what they’re getting for their investment, trust stays strong.
Being responsive. We’re quick to answer questions and address concerns. Slow communication kills trust, so we make sure clients never feel ignored or left in the dark.
Continuous improvement. We don’t set up a campaign and walk away. We constantly optimize — improving targeting, ads, and systems over time. When clients see we’re always working to get them better results, they know we’re invested in their growth, not just collecting a fee.
Delivering consistently. Honestly, the strongest loyalty builder is simply doing what we promised, month after month. When a contractor knows their calendar will stay full because of us, they have no reason to look anywhere else.
At the end of the day, Yavi Media is built on results and relationships. We keep clients by genuinely caring about their growth and proving it through consistent performance. Loyalty isn’t something you ask for — it’s something you earn by delivering, again and again.
