We were lucky to catch up with Olivia Rose and Jakob Weitz recently and have shared our conversation below.
Olivia and Jakob, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
The name Liquid Cat Publishing comes from the cozy feeling of being wrapped up in a blanket on the couch with your favorite book and a cute cat. That peaceful, warm feeling where everything feels at peace. We wanted to bring that feeling to people every time they dive into one of the books we publish! Hence — Liquid Cat Publishing!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
At Liquid Cat Publishing, we work with our writers every step of the way on their literary journey, helping to bring out the most from their work. From an idea and rough draft, to editing and publication, Liquid Cat Publishing helps our authors produce high quality, interesting and entertaining books.
We are on a mission to find new voices and new writers. At Liquid Cat Publishing, we believe that every author has a story to tell, and that every story deserves to be told.
We have published over 30 unique books from writers across America — and even the World! Many of our books are sold on Amazon and in Target and Barnes & Noble, as well as local brick and mortar stores across the country.
We are most proud of our authors and the incredible and moving works we have helped get out into the hands of people like you! Our website www.liquidcatbooks.com is a wonderful community and features all the works and authors and we are so proud to have created a space where people can create and enjoy thought-provoking works that you can’t find anywhere else!

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is inspiring others to tap into their creativity and seeing works come to life. Witnessing other people resonating with produced work is also an extremely rewarding aspect of being creative and getting something publishing and put out into the world. It is a genuinely gratifying experience that can be very moving.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Our mission was to change and modernize the publishing world. For too long, publishing has been an elitist and prohibitive world where people get their spirit broken through rejections and being told they are “not good enough.” We set out to change that and give a voice to those that may have felt discouraged or too distant from the elitist world of traditional publishing. So we’ve made unique connections and have worked to try and bring publishing back to the people and get more people involved in creative writing in the hopes that we can get that writing in the hands of more people and inspire change in the publishing world. We wanted to give a voice to the voiceless, and encourage people who didn’t think they were “writers” and show them, yes, you can do it too!
