My entrepreneurial journey began in March 2020, just before the world was hit by an unforeseen global pandemic. At that juncture, I had recently transitioned into a full-time healthcare job and was keen to lay the groundwork for my business.
Launching my venture during a pandemic presented both challenges and opportunities. The unexpected crisis drastically altered my path. While I faced the loss of nearly all industry connections, I viewed it as an opportunity to carve my unique path, away from the guidance of mentors. It became a pivotal time for me to master the intricacies of entrepreneurship and hone essential business skills. I channeled my efforts into meticulously crafting contracts and streamlining workflows for my business.
As I contemplate the ‘what-ifs’ of starting earlier or later, an earlier launch could have entailed grappling with the significant task of rescheduling multiple events due to the pandemic’s impact. On the other hand, had I started later, I might have been overly eager to dive into client bookings and wedding planning, potentially overlooking the crucial foundational work that I dedicated myself to.
In retrospection, I’m content with the timing of my entrepreneurial journey. Despite the formidable challenges, the early setbacks fortified the bedrock of my business. These experiences were invaluable lessons that have fortified my foundation for the future. My optimism is high as I anticipate the compounding growth that the foundation I’ve laid will bring in the coming years
