Olivia, appreciate you joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?

I discovered how natural skin care products help with my daughter’s skin after her breakout with rashes. At first I was just trying things out, it was fun so it was actually a hobby for me, then some of the products started actually working(turmeric, oats, and certain oils). Then I started letting family and friends try my soaps and also making them as gifts for holidays. With my family and friends advice I wanted to share my gift with the world. My products and ingredients are carefully sourced and unique to bring you the best quality at a fair price. Since Shower Blooms is a small business my handmade products are created in small batches to sustain quality.

Olivia, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Shower Blooms was created by myself (Olivia), I discovered how natural skin care products help with my daughter’s skin after her breakout with rashes. With my family and friends advice I would love to share my gift with the world. My products and ingredients are carefully sourced and unique to bring you the best quality at a fair price. Since Shower Blooms is a small business my handmade products are created in small batches to sustain quality. Not all products are created equal due to the handmade nature. I solve clients skin conditions such as eczema, dry skin, dark spots, acne ect. We sell products for all skin types. Body/face soaps, body scrubs, face oils, body oils, body scrubs, whipped soaps, body butters, body polishes, kids soap with toys inside, and feminine care products. We do have excellent customer service, we always follow up and keep our customers engaged and we spoil them rotten. I’m most proud of my goals I set for myself as far as teaching classes about skincare and how to make natural skincare. I’m a shy person so the fact that I could talk and teach a audience is the greatest accomplishment.
I am very passionate about my skincare products. I create them with love and resourcefulness. I make skincare fun, bubbly and full of colors. I love introducing new products that are different and artistic but also helps the skin ultimately.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

On social media I love doing content, from fun videos reacting out movie lines and trends and just incorporating skincare in them is so fun. It’s not easy but we do give it our best and show our personality. I love showing customers behind the scenes making of the products on social media. They can see first hand how everything goes down. Just to connect more and engage.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

When I opened my storefront in 2022 of May, the first six months was really challenging. From stocking the store, online orders, still working a full time job and being a full time mother. I felt like a robot, I didn’t learn how to operate well. I was so exhausted and stressed. I started losing weight and not eating. I was losing myself. I seemed help and advice from other business owners within a year. They gave me the best advice ever. “Don’t work like that, it will drain you badly.” “Start making time for yourself and create a schedule. And be patient with yourself. Don’t work with hectic energy. If you’re tired then rest and reset. “ Much more advice was giving. I listened and applied this to my life and there has been a big difference in my life. And I’m so happy more than ever.
