We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Olivia Guerrero a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Olivia, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
Great question! Normally I’ll volunteer my services at Williamson County animal shelter. I know lately they have been extremely busy and understaffed for the amount of animals they are intaking on a daily basis. They are at capacity. Although they are known as a no kill shelter, with a high amount of animals are receiving on a daily basis, it’s almost inevitable to remain a no kill shelter. This is causing the staff to be very stressed and not to mention heartbroken. The service they offer, Reiki, has healing energies and offers to alleviate stress, anxiety, depression and many other ailments. To show my appreciation towards the community, I reached out to the shelter to let the staff know I was going to have a complimentary Reiki session day for all the stuff there, to help alleviate any of the stresses. Before the week was over my calendar was full. In one day I was able to Reiki 6 of the staff. They are very grateful how relieved they felt after and showed their gratitude by leaving me 5 stars Google review. Knowing that I’m able to positively contribute to our community is a great feeling, and I’d do it all over again.
Olivia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Reiki is something I fell into. I would normally get Reiki sessions performed on me. I knew the benefits it had firsthand. One day I read that a Reiki beginner course was available to take. I took the initial course and was so intrigued, I continue to get certified as a Usui Reiki Master as well as an animal Reiki practitioner.
I enjoy helping people and I feel this is a way that I can give back. Not many people know about Reiki and think that it’s tied to religion or witchery lol, when in fact, it’s tied to a Japanese art form, healing of the hands. I like to say Reiki is fitness for the soul. Because it helps you release any childhood wounds, any subconscious blockages, and helps alleviate or rid any ailments.
Not only do I perform Reiki on others or animals, but I also perform Reiki on myself. To be honest, I don’t know how I survived without it. I highly recommend everyone to try it at least once.
The animal side of Reiki is really doing well & I have a lot of clients requesting me and referring me to friends of friends. I perform Reiki on humans and animals. Once my Reiki session is complete I enjoy hearing feedback from my clients. Most say, they feel rejuvenated, present and stress-free. This alone makes it all worth it for me.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Social media and my website are my main points of marketing. If there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s consistency and showing value to my potential clients.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Now that I am performing Reiki on a consistent basis, I’m finding more and more that referrals are my main base for obtaining new clients. Although that is true, I’m still very consistent with my social media posts.
