We recently connected with Olivia DeMontbreun and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Olivia , thanks for joining us today. One of the most important things we can do as business owners is ensure that our customers feel appreciated. What’s something you’ve done or seen a business owner do to help a customer feel valued?

I think in general, I always want to lead with kindness. I knew when I started this firm that I wanted it to be rooted in kindness no matter what.
My clients are my number one priority and the relationships I have with them are what make my job as incredible as it is. I think the biggest way to show a client you appreciate them is just being upfront, honest, and thinking about what is best for them. In this industry, designers will receive discounts and I try to pass this discount along to as many of my clients as I can. I believe that by doing this it allows my clients to purchase more in the long run and makes them feel like Olivia DeMontbreun Interiors has their best interest at heart!
When building a new home for a client I always make it a priority to walk through their current home and see makes the most sense for them/how they live/what their wants are. Being an interior architect is so much more than just making things pretty – it’s making things both pretty and functional for my client. I think this shows my clients I appreciate them and care for all of their needs down to the paint colors.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I have been in love with design and architecture since before I could remember! Opening my own design firm was always my biggest dream but it happened a lot sooner than I imagined.
Olivia DeMontbreun Interiors is a full service interior design and architecture firm based out of Nashville, TN but servicing the 30A Florida area and beyond.
I think what sets this firm apart from others is the genuine love and care for our clients and what they want their home to feel like/become/embody.
I am most proud of the way I make my clients feel throughout the whole process. I believe you can complete a beautiful home but the way you treat your clients throughout and the ease they feel throughout the whole process comes from you as the designer. I am so proud of this firm, the girls that work for me, the projects we’ve completed, the clients we have, the relationships we’ve made; I could go on and on!

The biggest thing I want potential clients and followers to know is how much heart is behind this company. I believe that there’s nothing we can not accomplish with heart and hard work. The concept of home has always been one that’s meant a lot to me. I’ve been designing for several years and with each project, I grow to love it even more. I design with one thing in mind and that’s my clients. Each person’s home is representative of what they love and who they are and I intend to always design with that at the forefront.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

Genuinely, like I said previously, I believe that being kind and caring for all of your clients needs helps build a good reputation. I believe the way you make people feel has an immense impact on your reputation. I think going above and beyond and constantly exuding kindness is what has helped build the reputation of Olivia DeMontbreun Interiors and everyone that works there.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

One of the biggest stories I can think of is when I was still working for another designer, she told me I wasn’t talented and I need to go back to school to learn more. She told me I wouldn’t be able to be a successful designer. Of course, initially that was hard to hear but it lit a fire under me almost immediately after. I was determined to work hard and succeed.
Of course there were one hundred other reasons I wanted to succeed but that definitely kickstarted the fight!
