Oli, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear from you about what you think Corporate America gets wrong in your industry and why it matters.
Corporate America often views influencer marketing through a transactional lens, focusing on short-term gains rather than building authentic, long-lasting partnerships. At FounderSix, we’ve seen firsthand the difference between influencers who are merely compensated for posts and those who are genuinely invested in the brands they’re promoting. Our model is built on offering influencers equity, not just a paycheck. This approach transforms them from mere endorsers to committed brand advocates, leading to more authentic and effective brand storytelling.

Oli, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
FounderSix is a beauty brand incubator with a difference. From a business perspective we wanted to find a solution to the rising customer acquisition costs by leveraging the organic reach of influencers. Rather than use hundreds of different influencers to promote our brands, we partner with just one that we believe has the authority and reach by themselves to launch their own brand. Behind the scenes we have an infrastructure that each of our brands can operate from. Recently, our team had two incredible launches: Anablue with Lauren Perez and Ravie Beauty with Allie Glines.

Okay – so how did you figure out the manufacturing part? Did you have prior experience?
We have a large network of amazing manufacturing partners around the world that help us achieve our visions depending on the requirements of each project. We started by hiring a world-class product development team with experience at companies like Shiseido, L’Oreal and J&J. First and foremost they brought a rigor to our partner selection process ensuring that we only work with the best manufacturers in the world, ensuring our products are not only using the latest innovations and technologies but also operate best-in-class safety and quality. We only work with the leaders in each field, from haircare R&D in the US, to cosmetic manufacturers in Italy and skincare labs in Korea. Making world-class products is not a simple task, taking time, patience and most importantly a clear and exciting vision from our co-founders that the manufacturers can work with.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Our reputation within the market has been carved out through the combination of the extensive industry experience brought by myself and my co-founder, Pieter Wittgen, and the invaluable partnerships we’ve formed with our influencer co-founders. Pieter and I bring decades of combined experience in entrepreneurship, investment, marketing, and strategic product development to the table, ensuring that the foundation of all our brands are solid, and allow our influencer co-founders to do what they do best – create amazing content and continue building a great relationship with their audience.
