Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Olga Miliuta. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Olga, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
The name of my school of course didn’t appear right the way. Long time I worked just under my own name “Olga Miliuta’s voice lessons” I knew that all successful businesses have beautiful and short names. There is how we start thing about one word which could describe our service. At that time i did only voice lessons and my own opera performances and the name appeared from there.
I am an opera singer and got my education in Europe.
Most time of my life was connected to opera and Italy.
There in my heart I got name “BelCanto” which “Bel” is beautiful “ Canto” is singing. “Belcanto” itself is a singing using a full, rich, broad tone and smooth phrasing.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I opened my own business right during the Covid pandemic. I got couple people whom i was teaching voice over the online classes. But my students spread the word very quickly and people started to ask me more about lessons and here I understood that I need to open school and find a place for that kind of activity.
I bought microphones pianos and all necessarily for my singers.
At first as I said I planned do only voice lessons and my own opera performances, here is why the name of school is “BelCanto”
During the time I started to get people interested in piano lessons… And now we grew up to 60 people in my school doing voice and piano lessons for all ages and levels.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Before i open my own business i used to be a student too. Music business is not easy, especially if you are a girl.
I am originally from Belarus and there you must to be perfect in everything if you want to be successful. The Way you look like the way you speak, the way you educated.
I graduated state conservatory back in a days, but it wasn’t enough personally for me as a professional singer and teacher.
I decided travel around the Europe ( Germany, Ukraine, France, Russia, Italy, Azerbaijan, Belgium) and collect different methods from famous professionals of singing, playing piano, acting and teaching.
As a singer I continued to participate different international voice compositions to check how all this methods work on my own professionalism ( i won 7 opera competitions).
At the moment I combine all the educational methods in one and i am happy to see , it works perfectly with the students
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I think I built my reputation in a market by being honest with the clients and doing my job on 200% I love to see my students successful and happy. But i am teaching them, that success is a hard daily work.
Patience and discipline here is the answer.
