We recently connected with Olga Adler and have shared our conversation below.
Olga, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The most meaningful project I undertook to date was a preservation and restoration of a 1925 historic home in downtown Delray Beach. It took a long time and an extra effort but it has been very gratifying as it allowed me to gain a special understanding of the history of Delray Beach and its first residents. It is simply very special to be able to contribute to the fabric of a historic neighborhood while also making a project environmentally responsible.

Olga, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I was born, raised and educated in Europe and my first career was in marketing and public relations there, doing mostly corporate communications, product publicity and celebrity representation. When I decided to move to the U.S., it felt like a natural moment to pursue my other interest: interior design. I lived in New England then and I went to NYU School of Professional Studies for interior design courses and I started my namesake interior design firm in Greenwich, CT soon after. That was almost 19 years ago! Over the years a lot of my New York and CT clients acquired homes in Delray Beach and Boca Raton and my business here grew fast enough that I decided to move here full time. I have been living and working in South Florida since 2019 and loving it. In my design work I’m very process oriented – making sure that the creative part of my projects is very collaborative but once selections are made my clients can just relax while I take care of the rest. Over the years I have been honored with multiple awards, my work has been featured in countless magazines as well as on home tours and in designer show houses. I truly love what I do and I very much enjoy going on those creative journeys with my clients while creating their dream homes.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Working in a creative field is hard but also very rewarding. It requires constant learning and adjusting. It’s half science half art, really. It requires research and really strong intuition. But in the process you constantly hone your technical skills while you also get to discover the work of artists and other creatives that can contribute to your process and to the final result that you get to unveil to your clients. I’m always excited to collaborate with real artisans, with people who make things with their own hands – it’s just so inspiring!

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
A resounding YES! I have been a traveler my entire life starting when I was a teenager and over the years I traveled to quite a few places. I can say with certainty that travel has been the greatest influence and creative force behind my design work. It’s not just specific places but first and foremost the people, the food and spices, the atmosphere, the amazing art, textiles, ceramics and artifacts – that’s what travel is all about. It’s about allowing other places, cultures and people to wash all over you, inspire you and change you. In my designs I incorporate multicultural references and materials that help me to imbue my work with a global, multicultural feel. So my particular goal and mission driving my creative journey is to create interiors that are well traveled, to inspire curiosity, interest and understanding of the far away places.
