We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Olesia Honcharenko. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Olesia below.
Olesia, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s talk about social media – do you manage your own or do you have someone or a company that handles it for you? Why did you make the choice you did?
I manage my social media accounts myself, as it allows me to stay closer to my audience and respond quickly to trends and their needs. Plus, with my extensive experience in social media management, I value having personal control over the strategy and content to maintain authenticity and a unique voice.
The main results of this approach have been steady growth and stronger loyalty among followers. It’s helped me understand my audience’s preferences more deeply and adapt more quickly to changes in the platforms.
For other business owners deciding whether to delegate their social media, I’d suggest first evaluating how important it is for them to be personally involved. If they choose to hand it over to a team, I’d recommend finding professionals who genuinely share their values and can communicate with real authenticity. This is what builds trust in the long term.

Olesia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m an experienced social media strategist and content creator, passionate about helping brands and individuals connect meaningfully with their audiences. My journey into social media marketing began after several years in the advertising industry, where I managed campaigns and built strong client relationships. Later, I shifted to social media management, initially promoting small businesses, including my own beauty studio. Seeing how social platforms could elevate a brand’s visibility and customer loyalty was incredibly rewarding, and I wanted to help others achieve that too.
Currently, I offer social media management services, focusing on Instagram and Facebook, and run a course with over 100 students that teaches businesses how to grow their presence and engage with their audiences effectively. I work with professionals across various fields, from lawyers to entrepreneurs, providing tailored strategies that align with their goals. Through my services, I help clients build a distinctive online presence, gain loyal followers, and ultimately convert that following into meaningful business results.
What sets me apart is my personalized, human approach to social media. I believe authenticity is the foundation of trust and long-term success, so I work closely with each client to ensure their brand voice shines through in a way that resonates. I’m also deeply interested in psychology, which helps me understand audience behavior and create content that truly connects.
I’m most proud of the community I’ve built—a following that values genuine, valuable content. I love inspiring my followers with motivational content, tech insights, and glimpses into my life as a creator and marketer. For those considering working with me, I’d want them to know that I’m committed to their growth and success and passionate about helping them reach new heights

How did you build your audience on social media?
My journey in building a social media audience started when I launched my own beauty studio. I initially used Facebook and Instagram to promote it, experimenting with content that felt authentic and approachable to attract clients. I quickly saw the impact a strong social media presence could have on a business, and this experience became the foundation of my career in social media marketing.
When I started managing accounts for other professionals, I focused on creating valuable, relatable content that spoke directly to their target audiences. By sharing helpful insights, engaging visuals, and consistently showing up with a personal touch, I built a reputation for authenticity and transparency. As I continued to grow my following, I launched my own course on social media, where I now have over 100 students, and actively share tips, motivational content, and tech reviews on my accounts.
For those just beginning to build their social media presence, my advice is to focus on these key areas:
Define Your Unique Voice: Be clear about what makes you or your brand unique and consistent in how you express it. Authenticity is a magnet for people who resonate with your message.
Provide Value First: Share content that educates, inspires, or entertains your audience. By focusing on what your followers need, you build trust and loyalty over time.
Stay Consistent: Consistency is critical in social media growth. It doesn’t mean you have to post every day, but have a regular rhythm and stick to it.
Engage with Your Audience: Building a presence isn’t just about posting—it’s about connecting. Respond to comments, ask questions, and show genuine interest in your followers.
Keep Learning and Adapting: Social media is always evolving, so stay open to trying new trends and tools, and continually refine your approach based on what works.
Growing an engaged, authentic audience takes time, but with patience and dedication, it’s incredibly rewarding. Each follower is a person who believes in your vision, and that’s truly special.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Looking back, there are definitely resources I wish I’d discovered earlier that would have saved time and boosted my skills. Here are a few that stand out:
Canva: I’ve been using it for a while now, but in the beginning, I didn’t realize how powerful it could be for creating professional-quality graphics without needing extensive design skills. It’s an incredible tool for anyone building a brand, especially if you’re working solo and need visuals that stand out.
Later or Buffer for Scheduling: Early on, I manually posted everything in real time, which was time-consuming and hard to keep consistent. Using scheduling tools like Later and Buffer streamlined my process and allowed me to plan content ahead of time, especially during busy periods.
Skillshare and Udemy for Continuous Learning: I only realized later how valuable platforms like Skillshare and Udemy can be for learning new skills on demand. They have an amazing selection of classes on everything from photography to social media strategy, and I still use them to keep my skills fresh.
Buy Me a Coffee: I only recently learned about it, but it’s perfect for offering quick, accessible content like mini-lessons and exclusive insights, which would have been a great way to connect with my audience in the early days.
Notion for Organization: As I started managing more clients and projects, Notion became essential for staying organized and on top of everything. It’s perfect for tracking goals, content ideas, and even personal growth plans.
Communities and Networking: Finally, I wish I’d known the value of joining professional communities earlier. LinkedIn groups, Facebook groups, and even Reddit have been fantastic for networking, getting feedback, and sharing advice with other creators.
These resources have not only saved me time but have also been huge in helping me reach a wider audience and offer more value to my clients and followers. For anyone starting out, investing time in finding the right tools and communities can make a big difference.
