We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Olasunkanmi Ogunade a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Olasunkanmi, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
My parents are one of the realest and amazing human beings ever. We were raised with so much love, and understanding and in the way of the lord. In regard to my career, my parents allowed me to be flexible and explorative. They didn’t force me to pick up a career that I didn’t love.
At age 17, I told my dad I wanted to be a commercial model, he helped me get into a modeling agency and that was how I started. He was not the Dad who would say ‘oh my son must be a Lawyer or a Doctor. Anytime I come back and I don’t get the tv jobs, he would encourage me on how to join other agents, buy me new clothes, and advise me to take care of my skin, looks, character, and so on. Really an amazing Dad.
He wanted me to go after my passion and go far as I want, my mum on the other side is more emphatic on spiritual growth and faith. Both of them make a perfect combo and I am forever grateful for them.
Olasunkanmi, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
What helped me build over time are Consistency, Work quality, Humility, and work ethic. These are the factors that have helped over time and beyond. As long as consistency is present, growth is naturally bound to happen.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
One of the most rewarding aspects is being able to influence clients, and followers positively. I get to share my vision in still images and colors with emotions and I see how clients give appraisals that are beyond money. Part of the advantages of being a creative is the limitless space it provides for us to be anything we want or desire. That freedom to fly high as much as you want, impact lives, influence decisions and change perceptions all positively is deeply rewarding.
