We were lucky to catch up with Olamide “Lammy” Sokunbi recently and have shared our conversation below.
Olamide “Lammy”, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today One of the most important things we can do as business owners is ensure that our customers feel appreciated. What’s something you’ve done or seen a business owner do to help a customer feel valued?
The best thing I’ve ever done to show a customer I appreciate them is making sure that I give them the best customer service. For example, I always make sure I let my clients know when I ship out items and if there is a delay, I always make sure to communicate that to them. I say this because making sure that your clients have a have a great experience with your business, can go a long way. Something as simple as writing a thank you note, to me is super important and adds to the experience.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Lambino Co. is your one stop shop for fitness, beauty, and apparel. An unlikely trio but that’s the motto for Lambino Co. we provide our customers with exceptional customer service and always strive to make sure our customers are happy. We offer custom made athletic wear for women of all sizes. As well as unique and comfortable one of a kind leggings. And for our customers who love makeup, we sell lashes to add the cherry on top. We also can’t forget about the fellas, we also sell mens fitness and leisure apparel.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
What helped me build my reputation within my market was quality customer service. I know I’ve said that more than once, but I truly believe that giving your customer a good experience really is important. I think of it as, how would I want to be treated when I spend my money. I know that I want to be treated well and have clear communication.

How’d you think through whether to sell directly on your own site or through a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc.
I sell on my site, but I have sold on Etsy before. The pros of selling on your own site is that you can control your rules. You can tailor and market the your site the way that you want. The cons of that is you have to put in extra work to drive traffic to your website. That is one of the first lessons I learned about e-commerce. Designing your website they way you want is one thing but being able to get people to your website and buy from you does take some trial and error. The pros of Etsy are you don’t have to worry about marketing, and it’s a unique marketplace, especially for handmade items. The cons of Etsy are you have to pay to list your items, and the Etsy market is very saturated, so you do have to take some extra steps to stand out from the rest of the Etsy sellers.
