Okechukwu , appreciate you joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?

Actually I got the base part of the idea from my older brother. I had been working a summer just will one my uncles it’s (If can call him that), and my brother was just getting to know about SEO and Facebook ads and at the time online shopping was just starting out so we decided to try the Facebook ads on a business and we used Ankara prints because we had a Big supplier ( my uncle was big in the business) and then I just built it up from there

Okechukwu , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Okay my name is Okechukwu Onugbolu and I run a small business “AnkaraLagos”. AnkaraLagos is an African oriented design company majoring in fashion and lifestyle products. I got into the fashion business will I say through my uncle I sells Ankara fabrics in the Lagos Island market so I went to work with him during one summer holiday and I enjoyed my time there as a kid I has always been fascinated by fashion and art world, been drawing since I was small and always dreamt of making my own clothes and adding to the fact that i didn’t not graduate from university with the best grade I saw and opportunity in this business. We produce and provide mainly fashion and lifestyle products ranging from Ankara fabrics to ashtray we make a wide range of products and we hope to expand our reach, we also provide tailoring services for bulk garment production we make custom prints and also fabrics for our clients do this are just a few of the things we do. One of the things we try to imprint in our products and services is the high level of craftsmanship and quality of services we provide changing the narrative that is been generally told about Africa

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

Consistent posting and marketing paid ads too are also very important and also messaging people sending emails and DM’s even tho you may think its some how but it works

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

I would say consistency we have been at this for roughly 7 years so over our influence and reputation has grown a lot of people be like “ so you’re AnkaraLagos “
