Oge, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
One of the best things I’ve ever done to show a customer my appreciation happened with a customer who did not come to me through referral but found me online and was skeptical about reaching out. This client had been struggling with breakouts for years and decided to consult me feeling both hopeful and nervous. After she completed her first consultation, I surprised her with a personalized “Skin Confidence Care Package” delivered to her door which included a complete customized products, a handwritten note celebrating her bravery and strength, and a QR code linking to a short video I recorded just for her, walking her through the next steps of her journey.
It was not just the products that made an impact; it was the feeling of being seen. She told me she felt genuinely cared for, like she finally had someone in her corner who understood how emotional skin struggles can be. That moment reminded me that skincare isn’t just about routines and ingredients; it’s about restoring confidence and creating a relationship where clients feel supported every step of the way.
That experience has shaped how I work today: personalized service, thoughtful touches, and making sure every client knows they’re valued beyond the appointment.


Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Ogechi Ukoha-Hermann and folks call me Oge. I’m the founder of a results-driven skincare and beauty brand called “Jelobeauty_biz” dedicated to helping clients transform their skin and reclaim their confidence via consultancy and coaching. My journey into this industry didn’t start with products. It started with myself and the desire to be confident in my own skin. Then it trickled into the need to help others feel confident in their own skin. I have always been passionate about guiding others, which is reflected in my background as an educator and professional leader. Over time, I found myself drawn to the emotional side of skincare: how deeply our skin affects our self-esteem, how overwhelming the information can be, and how many people feel lost, unheard, or unsupported in their skin journey. I noticed a gap in the industry, and I seek to bridge that gap where people don’t just want the products, nor the estheticians that they would go to every now and then. I seek to create a channel where they can have a ready guide, personal consultant, and a coach who would be there to guide them at anytime and they can reach anytime without the hurdles of waiting in line for appointments that are not sustainable.
This passion led me to build a business focused on personalized, corrective skincare especially for individuals struggling with acne, hyperpigmentation, and chronic skin conditions that have been dismissed or treated with one-size-fits-all solutions. I am happy to announce that I currently offer a comprehensive Acne Program (which began this Summer), virtual and in-person skincare consultations, customized home-care routines, curated product recommendations, and ongoing support designed to help clients who have “tried everything” an opportunity to achieve real, sustainable results. Every service I provide is grounded in education, transparency, and empowerment.
The core problem I solve for my clients is confusion and lack of guidance. So many of them come to me after trying countless products that didn’t work or after feeling overlooked in traditional skincare spaces. What sets my brand apart is my commitment to giving clients a clear, supportive pathway from day one based on their lifestyle, their skin’s unique needs, and their personal goals. I don’t just hand out products; I offer partnership, accountability, and a safe space for people to learn about their skin without judgment.
I am most proud of the community and trust I have built. Every testimonial, every before-and-after, every message from a client saying, “I finally feel comfortable in my skin again”; those moments fuel everything I do. They remind me that this work is bigger than beauty; it’s about confidence, healing, and helping people show up as their best selves.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
I keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty by creating a personalized, supportive experience that doesn’t end after a consultation and/or purchase. For me, connection and going the extra mile is key to my service.
I consistently check in with clients throughout their skincare journey, especially those in my Acne Program, so they never feel alone or unsure of their progress. Whether it’s sending follow-up messages after they receive their products, providing routine adjustments based on how their skin is responding, or celebrating their wins, I make sure they feel seen and supported.
I also use email updates, educational content, and skincare tips to stay connected and add value beyond products. Clients appreciate receiving guidance tailored to their needs, not just generic beauty advice. Social media plays a big role too. Though I do not share pictures of my clients, I share my own progress stories, new buzzing products, behind-the-scenes insights, and skincare/beauty education, which helps clients continue to keep tabs and feel like they’re part of a community, not just a transaction.
I have seen that what truly builds loyalty, though, is consistency in care. My clients know that when they message me with a question or concern, they’ll get a thoughtful, honest response. They know I remember their skin history, their goals, and their challenges. That level of personalization creates trust; and trust is the foundation of brand loyalty in the skincare world.
At the end of the day, I foster loyalty by treating every client relationship as long-term, valued, and deeply human. When people feel cared for, supported, and guided, they naturally stay connected to the brand that gave them that experience.


What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source of new clients for me has consistently been my own personal results and referrals. In the skincare world, especially when it comes to acne treatments and corrective services, people trust real results and real experiences. When a client hears and see my journey and transformation; as well as sees their own skin transform and feels supported throughout the process, they naturally share that with friends, family, and coworkers who are struggling with the same issues. That personal recommendation carries more weight than any advertisement ever could.
Many of my new clients come in saying things like, “My friend told me I HAVE to work with you,” or “I saw the results you helped my cousin achieve.” Those referrals mean so much because they’re a reflection of trust and satisfaction.
In addition to referrals, social media has been a strong driver especially after posting my before-and-after photos, progress updates, and educational content. People get to see my approach and feel connected even before booking.
But at the end of the day, referrals are the heart of my growth. They remind me that when you deliver real results, personalized care, and a supportive client experience, your clients become your biggest advocates.
