We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Odunayo Aboderin a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

This is your girl Odunayo the creative Director of Triple DAA Clothings.
A lot of people have asked me severally and at different occasions on how I came about the name TRIPLE DAA…….
Triple means 3
DAA was coined out of my children’s names
D for DAVID, DOMINIC and DONALD
A for AFOLARIN, AFOLAWE and AFOLAMI
A for ALAO.
So in simple terms I got my Business name using my boys names. They are the Triple DAA in my Life.

I am the Creative Director of Triple DAA Clothings and Logistics,
Triple DAA Clothings Lagos Nigeria is a Fashion brand that caters for Indigenous African inspired Designs for
Men.
I got into the industry through curiosity and joblessness, I wasn’t employed at that time and I just decided to satisfy my curiosity to know how pieces of cloths are cut into pieces n then fixed together to become 1 beautiful design.
At Triple DAA Clothings we specialise in making Indigenous and beautiful crafted African inspired Designs for Men.
African wears or natives don’t have to be boring 😉, we spice up our Natives with beautiful, attractive and neatly stitched designs for men of all Age, Calibre or Color.
I am here to preserve the African Dressing culture, due to the evolving of the fashion world, most of our men are looking for simple uncomplicated designs to wear to events and occasion and this is we’re we come in whether you’re a Millenial, Gen X baddie, or Gen Z baddie, we have something for you.
We keep up the trend in the African fashion world as we service Men of different class, colour and ages.
Our sincerity, speed and accuracy are what makes us stand out from our competitors as we strive to bring out the ROYALTY IN EVERY MAN.
Due to the rate we serve international clients, we gave birth to a baby business called TRIPLE DAA LOGISTICS which is a branch of TRIPLE DAA CLOTHINGS where we cater for our client’s international doorstep deliveries to over 220 countries. This makes it easier for us to reach our potential client from wherever part of the world they belong to.
As a woman who’s created a niche in a male dominated industry I do my best to update myself regularly so as keep myself up the trend.
We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
I would like to talk about how my side hustle TRIPLE DAA LOGISTICS finds its way to growing into a brand spanning over 5yrs of existence
During the Covid 19 outbreak I got numerous orders of Facemask to deliver to clients outside the country, but due to restrictions in movement I was stranded and during my search for an answer to this I got to know DHL was one of the Logistics provider who can move around during covid, through one of my friend I was able to move my product successful to New York city, i did a short video of how it moved from Nigeria from my doorstep and my client sent pictures of him recieving the face masks in New York, I shared this on my social media pages and a lot of people were in my shoes looking for how to move there products too, this was how I started my logistics business and it has grown from a side hustle I do at home to me getting a walk in outlet to recieve customers, we deliver within the shortest possible time frame of 3 to 5 working days and we move out items daily.
I would encourage us never to underestimate the days of little beginning and ideas cos no idea is small as long as it is from a genuine heart and well watered, it would definitely grow.
Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?
I would say it hasn’t been a smooth journey, I remember vividly when I was landing my first international wedding contract, it was a very very risky venture because I had to work with clients pictures and rough measurements sent by them, I was in Nigeria and I was to manage a wedding in Maryland USA of over 40 guests including the Groom n parents, mixing up measurements or getting anything wrong would be a major setback and I was ready to take the risk, to the Glory of God, all went well, sizes fits well, the Groom was totally satisfied and this particular wedding has brought me several international weddings deals.
