We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Octavia V a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Octavia , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
The Challenges and Rewards of Taking Risks: Often, when we think about taking risks, we may initially consider financial risks or making a career move. However, have you ever thought about taking risks to improve your mental health, spiritual well-being, and the uplifting of our society as a whole? I thought that taking risks would be daunting, as the path forward can be shrouded in uncertainty. As the prospect of not knowing what lies ahead – whether I’d have to turn left or right – was a terrifying thought. However, I realized taking risks could also lead to personal growth and a range of emotions such as happiness, sadness, joy, fear, excitement, resentment, love, hate and so on. It’s a journey where I discovered that I may lose some people, but also gain new and meaningful connections as well.
It was in my mid-twenties when I first felt that something about myself wasn’t aligned. This feeling persisted for years, and despite getting married and feeling a sense of unconditional love, happiness and grounded, I couldn’t shake off the feeling that something was missing or suppressed. Eventually, I reached a point where I was ready to explore this nagging feeling and discover what it meant for me.
Approximately two years ago, I was very intentional about beginning my journey to address the emotional wounds that had affected both me and my family for years. During my journey, I came to realize that even things like anxiety, depression, and addictions can be passed down energetically from one generation to the next.
To overcome these obstacles, I had to work on breaking down the walls that had enclosed my heart for so many years. It was not easy, but it was necessary for me to learn to fully trust and love unconditionally. I started by working through my trauma and releasing the emotions that had been bottled up within me since childhood. I found it helpful to write letters expressing my feelings and then burn them as a symbolic release of the pain, resentment, and hatred that I had been holding onto for so long proved to be a crucial part of my healing journey.
I also learned the power of forgiveness. Forgiving others who had hurt me was another critical step of my healing process. I realized that sometimes people do things because they believe it’s the only way to survive. Forgiveness is a complex emotion. It’s not just about forgiving the action of the person but forgiving them for their misalignment and lack of understanding of the gravity of their actions and its long-lasting effects.
While forgiving someone does not necessarily mean forgetting what happened, it does benefit both parties involved. By forgiving others, you are not only releasing that negative connection to them, but also to yourself. Holding onto pain, hatred, and resentment can manifest into dis-ease in the body, which I had began to experience. I had been experiencing pain in certain areas of my body that I could not explain. However, as I began to release and forgive, the pain began to go away as well.
As I released more emotional energetic baggage, I discovered my inner gifts and began guiding and supporting others on their healing journey, working on their own shadow work and changing their life for the better. It’s incredible how much you can unlock within yourself once you start to let go of negative emotions and focus on positive energy and outcomes.
As I began to learn more, I found myself being guided towards mentors and like-minded individuals who could help me grow. I started focusing on mindfulness meditation, taking nature walks and adjusting how I interacted with others. However, I didn’t expect that this path would lead to a change in career focus or that I would need to distance myself from some of my close friends and loved ones because we were on different paths vibrationally. Although it was difficult, I had to accept the changes and trust that everything would work out for my highest good. Surrendering to God’s plan required taking risks, but it was a risk that was worth taking.
Now, in my mid-thirties, I can say that my healing journey has been a decade-long process of self-discovery, enlightening moments, and personal growth. At times it was scaring, but it feels aligned, it feels happy, it feels like unconditional love, it feels grounded, it feels like wholeness, it feels like something that words can’t explain because it’s the highest frequency that’s indescribable.
The visible outcome of me doing the work looks like me putting myself first. By prioritizing my own self-care, I am able to love my husband and children unconditionally while expressing my feelings with good intentions. This not only benefits me, but it also allows me to be a better parent and provide my children with the necessary tools to process and deal with their emotions effectively. I have seen firsthand how this approach has helped my children express themselves freely and overcome minor obstacles, which will be invaluable for their future growth.
My husband and I have benefitted from my healing as well as we have developed an even stronger bond, and have learned to communicate effectively and offer each other support during challenging times. By doing the work ourselves, we’ve motivated each other to find balance and operate from a place of love and understanding.
By operating from a place of patience, love, and compassion, I have attracted like-minded individuals who share my purpose, leading to the formation of strong and meaningful friendships.
Taking a risk to pursue self-healing is never an easy feat, but the rewards are worth it. For me, it meant finding inner peace and conquering years of pain and struggles. I discovered that taking care of myself was vital, as it had a ripple effect on my family. While my journey is ongoing, I am now in a much better place and incredibly grateful for every moment of it. I can confidently say that I love where I am right now and cannot wait to see what the future holds.

Octavia V. discovered her calling in the holistic wellness industry after releasing deep energetic and emotional burdens. She realized that she had a natural ability to release and heal stuck emotions. She then recognized this gift could benefit others, and thus began her journey as a Therapeutic Energy Healer. Octavia V. offers a range of healing modalities, including mindful meditations and coaching to guide individuals on their own unique path towards healing.

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
As a Therapeutic Energy Healer, there are a few key things that I believe are essential for success in this field. First, it’s important to cultivate a deep sense of empathy and compassion for others. You must be able to connect with your clients on a personal level and understand their unique needs and experiences. This requires a strong sense of emotional intelligence and the ability to listen actively and non-judgmentally.
Second, it’s crucial to develop your own intuition and spiritual practice. This involves regularly taking time to meditate, connect with your own inner guidance, and hone your intuitive abilities. By doing this, you’ll be better equipped to tap into your clients’ energy (with their permission) and understand their needs on a deeper level.
Finally, it’s important to stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in the field of healing. This can involve attending workshops, conferences, and continuing education courses, as well as staying abreast of new techniques in the industry.
Overall, succeeding as an Therapeutic Energy Healer requires a combination of empathy, intuition, and ongoing education and self-development. By cultivating these skills and staying committed to your craft, you can build a successful and fulfilling career in this field.
If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
If given the chance to start over, I would still choose the very same field I am in now. Though I didn’t necessarily make a conscious decision to be here, I feel as though it was the Universe’s plan for me all along. I wouldn’t trade it for anything because I truly believe it’s a part of my divine purpose on earth. As human beings, our mission is to create a safe space for one another and promote healing for ourselves and others. Through this, we can elevate ourselves and raise the earth’s vibrational frequency.
