Obiageri , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Zikorah was created with the sole purpose f putting the love back into African fashion .
We create timeless , affordable, versatile , well tailored afrocentric pieces for the African fashion loving women who are not afraid, of being bold , vibrant and colorful .
Obiageri , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Zikorah is a brand that was created 5 years ago with the sole purpose of introducing women all over the world to African chic fashion.
A fusion of African print with mordern prints and fabric . We ship all over the world via dhl and we have retailers in a few countries.
Our designs are new , chic , versatile , affordable, of great quality, and versatile.
As a brand , our joy comes from woman who look great in our pieces as we continue to share our art with the world .
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
When I initially started zikorah , it was a partnership and we had to put together our savings , which was a very little amount .. as we had just graduated from college and had no Job or source of income .
We had to borrow from a friend to make our first collection .
It was difficult when we started, as regardless of how little a business is , you need funding to keep it moving … and eventually scale .
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Selling on social media has been interesting and one of the ways we’ve been able to last this long is putting out good content , and making sure the end product matches the quality of content .
Social media , is a very visual place and the eyes eat first before the pockets can open .
We also engaged the services of content creators and influencers who interpreted our designs in their own way and thus; gave our audience new experiences with every post .
