Hi Nyteisha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey began in New Jersey, where I was born and raised. Growing up, I discovered my passion for helping others, which led me to become a case manager. In this role, I advocate for those who need a voice, particularly my brother who faces his own set of challenges. My work is deeply fulfilling, and it has taught me the importance of resilience and patience.
Moving to Northern Virginia in 2010 brought new opportunities, both personally and professionally. I became a mother to two wonderful daughters, now 12 and 21, who inspire me daily with their strength and grace. Balancing motherhood and my career has been challenging, but also incredibly rewarding.
A significant turning point in my life was founding Thrive Studios LLC, Empowerment Studio. Through this venture, I have been able to combine my faith and passion for mentoring, coaching, and empowering women. My mission is to help women cultivate deeper connections with themselves, God, and their community, enabling them to live lives of purpose and fulfillment.
Recently, I was recognized as one of Loudoun’s 40 Under 40, an honor that acknowledges my contributions as a rising business and community leader. This recognition has reinforced my commitment to creating a positive impact in my community.
Throughout my journey, I’ve remained rooted in my faith, which guides my actions and decisions. My favorite quote by Maya Angelou, “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel,” resonates deeply with me. It reminds me of the importance of compassion and the lasting impact we can have on others.
As I continue to grow and evolve, I am committed to living a life that reflects God’s grace, wisdom, and love, always striving to make a difference in the lives of those around me.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it hasn’t. I can say there have been tough lessons, which turned out to be blessings. There’s pain in growth, pain in being a single mother, pain in striving to make change, and pain in transforming within. Yet, I can say the pain doesn’t outweigh the joy I’ve discovered during the process. The process is always tough to endure, but the promise is such a blessing.
When you feel inadequate, it can take a toll, especially when you’re not at peace within and when you’re watching the world instead of searching within to discover the amazing person you see in the mirror and others experience. I had to reimagine and love myself all over again while being in the roles I walked in each day. No longer depleting myself for others, I started embracing the uncomfortable so I could grow in grace with myself.
I am in constant self-reflection. I get to become proud of myself and comfortable with being chosen and set apart. I realized that with God at the center and my daughters watching, I have a purpose to offer.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
When it comes to finding a mentor, I’ve learned that divine connections often cultivate the most powerful and safe relationships. My mentor, Tiffany James, is an incredible woman based in California. She’s powerful, authentic, loving and intentional. Her guidance has been invaluable to me.
Finding a Mentor
Divine Connection: Trust that the right mentor will come into your life at the right time. Often, it’s through these divinely orchestrated moments that we find the people who will truly support and guide us.
Active Participation: I met my mentor while participating in another program. Being active and involved in various programs, workshops, and community events can open doors to meaningful connections.
Spaces and Interests: Think about the spaces you are entering. Align them with your interests and goals. Whether it’s professional networks, community groups, or faith-based organizations, look for environments where you feel you can grow.
Faith-Centered Connections: Personally, keeping my faith at the center of my connections has been crucial. It ensures that my relationships are built on shared values and a common foundation.
Ask Questions and Be Open: Don’t be afraid to ask questions and be open to learning. A mentor-mentee relationship is a two-way street. It’s about both giving and receiving. Be willing to share your experiences and be open to feedback and guidance.
Comfort and Growth: Whether you feel comfortable or uncomfortable in certain situations, remember you are there to grow. Embrace both giving and receiving as powerful wins.
Networking
Networking isn’t hard if approached with the right mindset. It’s about building genuine relationships and being intentional with your interactions. Here are a few tips that have worked well for me:
Be Intentional: Focus on forming real, authentic connections. It’s not about the quantity of people you meet, but the quality of the relationships you build.
Engage Actively: Participate in events, workshops, and programs that align with your interests and goals. Being active and engaged increases your chances of meeting like-minded individuals.
Ask and Listen: Ask questions and actively listen to others. Show genuine interest in their stories and experiences. This helps build trust and rapport.
Follow-Up: After meeting someone, follow up with a message or an email. Keep the connection alive by checking in periodically and offering support or assistance when needed.
Be Genuine: Authenticity is key. Be yourself and let your true personality shine. People appreciate genuine interactions and are more likely to remember and value them.

At Thrive Studios, we are also working on launching ‘HerMentorship Program,’ designed to support single mothers in homeless shelters. This program aims to remind them of their value and provide the support they need to rebuild their lives.
