We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Nyron Waite a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Nyron, appreciate you joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I first knew I wanted to do music professionally when I got the reaction to my first songs I released in High school. I made a song about a high school basketball player who got all the love and admiration from his friends and peers. And I really wanted to be cool like that. When I got the reaction from my friends of how cool it was, I knew I had something special I can share with the world with my music. I knew I could relate!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Nyron. I got into music in high school when I used to write all night trying to make music that was relatable. I got into music in high school free-styling at lunch with my friends. I think the music I make relates to those who have to deal with daily life and it sets me apart from others because I put new ideas and creativity first. I am most proud of my constant growth as a musician. And my plans to constantly evolve. For those that love music that is relatable and gets them through day to day life, my music is for you.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is painting in colors that have never before been felt. I try and strive to make music that makes you feel emotions that’s hard to express. I believe great music is music that can express emotions that we have not been able to identify. And I strive to make music that achieves that. I have impacted a few in my life with my music, making them think, cry and give nostalgia. So that is the most rewarding aspect for me.

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
I believe we should always support artists the same way we support any creative venturing off to build something new in the world. I believe as a society we should always work to push the envelope forward, because that is the way we are able to always build and innovate the world we live in.
