We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nyla Robinson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nyla below.
Nyla, appreciate you joining us today. Early in your career, how did you think through the decision of whether to start your own firm or join an established firm?
Becoming a business owner was something I have always dreamed of. Of course, I did not know it would be notary loan signing, but I knew that whatever I did, I needed to have my name attached to it. Thus, how “Notarize With Nyla LLC” was born. I am currently a mobile notary loan signing agent but am very eager to have my own location for my business. God willing, it will come VERY soon. I am glad I chose to be in this profession because it is unique, the notary community is very welcoming, and it is a lucrative business to be in. I have been a notary business owner for about 2 years now and the first year was difficult, to say the least. I learned that it was necessary to take risks and figure out how to “leverage your losses”. Not only that but once you grow as a person, so does your business.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Nyla Robinson and I am a notary loan signing agent based in Houston, Texas. I offer notarization services (online as well), professional services (HR consulting, resume building, etc.), wedding officiant services, and marketing services to businesses near and far. Moreover, my tenacity, work ethic, and availability set me apart from others in this industry. I am most proud of the way I branded myself as a notary, my supporters & clientele, and how I was able to create income for myself. Being a business owner can have challenges, but it is rewarding in every aspect.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
SOCIAL MEDIA. Social media plays a major part in gaining exposure to my notary business. Being consistent on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc. definitely pays off. Also, creating a Google business page has assisted me greatly with gaining clientele in my local community. Gaining reviews on Google helps build trustworthiness for potential clientele.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
Always save your money! I was always taught from a young child that saving your money will be essential because you never know what might happen. When I left my 9-5 job, I had enough money saved up to go full-time as a notary loan signing agent. Many people are juggling a 9-5 job along with being a notary, (which is completely fine) but it can become overwhelming. Saving your money can lead you to a better lifestyle if that is what you truly desire.
