Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to NunAfterHours. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
NunAfterHours, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you wish you had started sooner?
I believe I started my music career right on time. I started a little late in the game, but I’m glad it unfolded that way because my mindset would’ve been way different if I had started earlier. I’m glad I figured out who I was as a person before embarking on my musical journey—I wouldn’t change a thing.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I started songwriting in late 2017. My original reason for pursuing music was to make a party song for my friends and I to turn up to. I wrote my first song called “H&M”, and went to the studio to record it. I got the mixed and mastered version a couple of weeks later and loved how I sounded. Shortly after that, I started writing more songs and going to the studio every week to compose my debut mixtape. I started out doing hip-hop music, but I rebranded to punk/alternative music about 3 years ago. My growth as an artist, as far as finding my sound, led to my rebrand. Looking back, it’s rewarding to see the evolution of my music.
I started DJing about 2 years ago. My niche is EDM/dance music. Within a couple of months of my DJ career, I got signed as a brand ambassador of Skrachy, which is a live streaming platform for DJs. I’ve thrown and DJ’d my own parties in my area, mostly catering to the queer community.
I’m looking to expand my brand and connect with more likeminded people, such as alternatives, queers, and misfits.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal in my musical journey is fulfillment within myself. I know my life obstacles and particular journey has all led me to align with my life path, which is a career in music. There’s nothing else that makes sense for me. This is what I’m meant to do.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect is seeing all of my hard work come together, whether it be coming out with a new song/album/video or producing a show. People don’t realize how hard I work behind the scenes. I do a LOT, because I’m an independent artist. Being able to touch people and spread love through my craft makes it worthwhile.
