Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nova Stclair. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Nova, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?

The Most Meaningful Project that I’ve had the Pleasure and Opportunity of Doing would be A video Project that I did with @Or_acle! They reached out to me and expressed interest in my art and we collaborated, creating a Visual and Audial masterpiece. It feels like an artist Ode to me… I feel like it was one of the first times someone saw my Natural Essence, Light, Radiance and sought to amplify me…Makes my Heart Smile… I am Still immensely grateful for this.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

As I Fully became into myself after leaving the Navy I felt that I had so much energy that was untouched… energy that I sought to sink into… This Energy being my natural life essence that I feel creativity is made of… As I became to explore this I felt so much joy in the way that I could dress and be so vibrant and colorful and I did this as a reflection of how I felt inside. Since then my style has continued to evolve and I’ve been inspired to continue creating… From Doing creative Makeup looks that allow me to create a different self, Styling myself, living through the freedom of fashion, and The Art of Crafting and Creating Jewelry, Clothes, and Even Furniture! Exploring Different mediums of Art in every way it can manifest… To the Present in Developing my own brand in which to showcase a different medium of expression and find the joy in not only styling but Creating Unique Indivual Art pieces. I think what sets me apart from others is that I lead with my heart. I find that sometimes there can be a disconnection between folks Interior and Exterior… I Carry my Confidence and Love on my sleeve and show just as much love to others as I do myself… I am most Proud of my perseverance… The ability to Construct what I want Life to feel and look like… in a way that is authentic to me and that nurtures me. I want people to know that I have range… that I will continue to Grow and Evolve… Building my community and empire and Pursing all things I feel for myself and keeping myself open to all the Love.

Have you ever had to pivot?

I was in the Navy for a year and a half… Although not a full term I still got to see and learn a lot. I saw how comfortable the military made certain people. I felt the comfortability… This that would lead service members to stay in service for over 10+ years in which they had lost their prime years and felt like they had to stay until retirement because it’s all they’ve known… this scared me… I didn’t want to feel pigeonholed into staying in the Navy because I felt there was much more to my life than what the military could provide me… I took that leap out of the comfortability so that I could soar and become the Exuberant person I am today unapologetically. Today I still have no regrets and it’s come to be a strong choice that I made for my own sanity and purpose.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.

I think some people have the perception that there is no value in art or creative pursuits… I think the complete opposite of this. I believe that our creative pursuits are some of the most precious parts of life… Art is an Extension of the Artist, so when I see, feel, interact with an art piece it is a direct interaction with the creator and also myself because of perception… and in which can teach me something about the world or even myself… One that can Inspire and that transcends our life at times… Just think about Famous Art pieces that have defined history… This isn’t new to us nor has it lost its meaning with time. I encourage more people to Create and Explore who it is they are and how they can extend that into something they can be proud of…
