We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Nora Yolles Young a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Nora , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear stories from your time in school/training/etc.
When I was training to become a hypnotherapist, something happened that changed my life forever. I was the demo client for the class that day; to show how to facilitate past life regressions. The students were all watching me get brought through a past life regression session. They wanted a past life, but that’s not what came through in the session. Once I was in the hypnotic state, something else came through. It wasn’t a past life. What did happen was the consciousness of my father, who’d died several years earlier at the age of 60, ‘hopped’ into my session. His the essence of his energy entered my consciousness. He kind of barged in and side tracked the session. But he had his reasons, He wanted to explained the reason for his early departure from his life. I was so heart broken when he died so young. His death was such a huge loss, he didn’t get to meet my husband or my children.
The information he shared came in like a tidal wave. Like a download of information to my awareness, he explained that his death was a part of his soul plan, something that had been agreed to before he’d been born. His energy infused me with total clarity to all of the questions I had about his illness and his death. He also apologized for the pain it caused me and my siblings. What the students were seeing was a very emotional woman heaving and weeping and sobbing. I lay there, agog in the zero gravity chair , reclined, taking in all in. So much information all at once. The instructor staying with me, asking questions about the experience. Helping me to anchor in all of the powerful, streaming insight flowing through. My instructor was so concerned about the emotional experience, that she cleared the room, so that I could come back from the experience without a bunch of eyes on me. The amount of love that came through the experience was profoundly healing. It provided me the opportunity to know what my father’s experience was like from his point of view: on a soul level, and on a human level. Things that I never knew were possible to know. Through this powerful work, things are knowable that we don’t know is possible. I found right away through this work, that you can have access to the realm of spirit where so much knowledge and wisdom is available and accessible through this work. This is why I love what I do, and feel that this work is so helpful for the grieving process. I certainly helped me.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My work is focused on helping people access their unique creative soul expression and purpose. I use hypnotic and other intuitive and creative coaching techniques to support those who are ready with clearing their inner thoughts, behaviors and beliefs that hold them back at the root cause. I also love to work with creatives, fine artists artists, writers and musicians. I consider my work to be my artistry, so I get it. Part of the fun of being human is working with our innate gifts of creativity. Once people understand their special blend of inner gifts and move through what blocks them, ones true artistry can be unleashed. Clients can then fully step forward in the life that they’re excited to live.
My work is very experiential, and I honor each client’s path as sacred and unique. work with individuals, groups, as well as train people how to become client centered, transpersonal hypnotherapists and regressionists.
Ever since I was little, I’ve felt like a bridge between two worlds. The spirit realm and the human realm. My first career as an archaeologist was my first attempt at expressing this bridge in my work. However, after being in the field for many years, I realized that my passion was to work with people as a bridge, to refine my artistry as that sacred bridge.
It took some time to discover the best way to be this bridge. I worked with clients as an energy healer, and studied metaphysics. It was when I came across the work of Dr. Michael Newton and his research on a technique he calls Life Between Lives Therapy© that it all started to come together. I now blend all of my skills into this craft of helping people bridge to their soul essence, the heart of their most authentic expression in life. I’ve been doing this work since 2011.
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
Without a doubt, knowing yourself, and looking within for your own truth before making decisions is essential to succeeding and loving what you do. The knowledge base is also very important. But if you’re anything like me, Following the prescribed pathway to success in life never worked for me. Maybe it’s the way my brain works, or the way I see the world. From my own inner work I’ve learned that my soul intended for my life to be non-traditional. To have a life that forced me to live and view life outside the box. That’s just always been how I roll. From the very start, I’ve had to figure out my own path in life, because the way I do things is a different trajectory than anyone else, and that is a very good thing. It was difficult at first, because we are taught to prefer following charted paths in life. First you go to school, then you go to college, have a career, you meet the person you’re supposed to marry, have kids… on and on. I work with a lot of people who’ve done all the things and followed all the steps, and have achieved societies perception of success, yet they feel empty inside. It’s baffling to them. Yet, one common theme I see in this work is that people don’t really know themselves. They know the avitar. The one they’re supposed to appear to be, but who they are has been hidden and obscured. I love helping people access that inner truth of who they really are. It’s only through a deeper understanding of self that we can actualize the felt experience the fulfillment that comes with the success you desire.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Integrity, authenticity and a genuine passion for helping people are what continue to help me build my professional reputation. The work that I do does not work if I don’t do my own inner work. I use the techniques that I share with my clients on myself. I use them because they work. I am constantly embracing my own growth and evolution. I’m radically honest with myself and with people about what they can expect from me, and I own my perceptions and invite others to embrace theirs. I don’t expect myself or others to be perfect. Authenticity is a characteristic that I hold dear. I will always show up in life authentically and with deep love and respect for humanity and this wold and whacky thing we all call life.
