We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Noor Hussein a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Noor, thanks for joining us today. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?
Being a business owner is not an easy thing to do on a daily basis. It comes with its own unique aspects, and at the same time dealing with all the lows the business experiences itself. It requires every day growth and choosing the right team for higher success. As a business owner, it’s very important to put yourself out there and take the risk. Gain and loss is a typical aspect of any business, but the key is how you are able to perceive it and move forward. Every job is distinctive, whether you work for a company or work for your business. And anyone can become a business owner, but truly owning your business is taking special care of every step of the way and not giving up easily.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’ve always known I wanted to come up with an idea of my own, and be able to share my story through the works I provide. At the beginning it was a bit difficult to get into the industry with many competitors and professional caterers throughout the county. As a full time student and business owner, managing both was definitely not easy. It came a long way of sacrifices, difficulties having clients, and reaching the correct niche. The types of services I have always provided is a combination of the many passions I developed growing up, like baking and paying attention to the little details. Which began to grow more into small set ups for events and many more services related to event planning and catering. Coming up with my own ideas and details is a critical part of my business success I would say. It helps sets me apart when it comes to the industry, as I shape my own unique aspect and make sure that it’s unique to me and my business. Potential clients can find so many options and customized plans that suit them from dessert catering, to even set up and planning, favors, etc. Luxe Sweets is not limited to dessert catering, but it takes an approach on creative ideas that help clients choose what is the best fit for their event and for them as well.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
Building communication with clients is very effective and it says so much about your business strategies and whether the clients are willing to trust you with their event, etc. Offering clients many options and being able to understand their needs, budget, and how much are they willing to work with you allows them to move further with your business and services. It also allows them to refer other clients to your business. And fostering loyalty also comes with two much you communicate and keep up with your clients, the way you offer services and how effectively you can get the job done.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
With many talented individuals in the industry it’s definitely crucial to be yourself and be creative in your own ways. The quality of the services you offer will always come first, and making sure you offer high quality, effective and something that suits every client in a different way will help build your business immensely. Many individuals may offer the same service, maybe at a different price but overall it’s the same idea. It will only come down to what the client prefers, quality versus pricing. However, an effective business will always leave it open for the client and work based on their needs but still offer the best quality they can. This will build an effective and growing clientele but it will also leave your reputation on a great and creative note.
