In the vibrant streets of Montego Bay, Jamaica, amidst the warm Caribbean breeze, my grandfather Kenneth Dewar was a pillar of strength and wisdom. From a young age, he guided me with a steady hand and a heart full of love, shaping the person I am today.
Grandfather Kenneth was a man of principles rooted deep in Jamaican culture—hard work, respect, and perseverance were his mantras. Growing up under his care meant learning the value of integrity and the rewards of dedication. He instilled in me a strong work ethic, teaching me that success doesn’t come overnight but through diligence and determination.
His lessons went beyond words; they were reflected in his actions. He was a respected figure in our Parish, known for his kindness and willingness to help others. His generosity knew no bounds, whether it was offering guidance to troubled youth or lending a helping hand to neighbors in need.
Through his stories and experiences, he shared the rich tapestry of Jamaican heritage with me, fostering a deep appreciation for our roots. He taught me the importance of hard work, embracing diversity and respecting different cultures.

My journey from the vibrant streets of Montego Bay, Jamaica, to the dazzling lights of Hollywood is a testament to talent, determination, and the power of believing in oneself.
I was born to Jamaican parents with roots tracing back to Cuba, I grew up surrounded by a rich tapestry of culture and creativity. From a young age, I displayed a natural passion for storytelling and acting, impressing my high school teachers and college professors with raw talent and dedication. I was encouraged by their guidance and support. I decided to pursue film making in Hollywood, armed with ambition and a strong work ethic instilled by my upbringing.
Upon arriving in Hollywood, I immersed myself in the industry, taking on any opportunity that came my way. Whether it was auditions, small roles, or working behind the scenes, I approached each experience with unwavering passion and commitment.
Despite the setbacks and challenges, I persevered, drawing inspiration from my Jamaican heritage and the resilience of my Cuban ancestry. I truly believe that my unique background enriched my performances, adding depth and authenticity to each character I portray.
Through hard work, dedication I began to carve out a space for myself in Hollywood. I know that I stand as a testament to the notion that with perseverance and belief in oneself, dreams can indeed become reality. From Montego Bay, Jamaica to Hollywood, California my journey serves as an inspiration to aspiring artists worldwide, proving that no matter where you come from, with determination and talent, anything is possible.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
The discovery of film and theater school was a monumental moment in my creative journey. These institutions became pivotal in shaping me into a skilled actor, offering invaluable tools and experiences that accelerated my growth and understanding of the craft. The guidance of experienced instructors allowed me to receive constructive feedback and learn from industry professionals who shared their insights and techniques.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist lies in the ability to connect deeply with others on an emotional and intellectual level through creative expression. I feel that I have a unique gift of translating thoughts, emotions, and observations into tangible forms that resonate with audiences throughout the world. Knowing that your work makes an impact on someone else’s life. Whether it’s evoking joy, sparking contemplation, provoking empathy, or challenging perceptions, art has the power to stir emotions and provoke thought.
