Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nolan Harmon. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Nolan, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
This is a great question, but to be honest, there are so many to choose from. I always have the mentality that my best project is my next one. I always try to one up myself in everything I do. I’ve got to do some acting in some films such as Noah and Normal Norman which were both great experiences. I had my first chance ever to produce and co-direct a short film – Lifetime of Sin – I’ve gotten to do a lot of photoshoots and designed a lot of clothes as well. My biggest focus always shifts from designing to acting, but right now I’ve been in my most creative spurt with fashion designing.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am a fashion designer, actor and model from Illinois and currently residing in Chicago. I got my start my senior year of college where I found my actual passion in creative work. I originally was in school for sports media, but thankfully found my real purpose in art. That art for me fuels me and is what I was always meant to do. It just took me a bit longer to figure things out. On top of acting, modeling and fashion design, I also coach those things weekly in several different courses as a head instructor for MTM Chicago.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I wouldn’t say that I have any one particular goal. I’ve done so much at a way younger age than I thought I would have, if at all. Now, my sights are set on bigger things. For one, I want to be a creative head for my favorite brand, Louis Vuitton. So that’s probably my biggest life goal. I want to win an award for best actor, walk in fashion weeks, do personal styling for higher-end designer brands that I wear and use myself, and use my platform to help others as well.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Post, post, post. I can’t say this enough. I teach this to my students as well. If you’re a ghost on social media, you can have the absolute best stuff out, but if nobody sees it, you don’t get recognition as a result. Find what you love to do and make content out of it. There’s a market and following for everything, Just be consistent and post what you like.
