We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Noelle Stoffel. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Noelle below.
Alright, Noelle thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I always knew I wanted to be an artist. As a young child growing up in Wisconsin, I announced that I was going to work for Hallmark Cards. I designed cards and wrote “HallNoelle” or “NoelleMark” on the back and gave them to relatives. When interviewing at Hallmark years later, I think they found that amusing. I also dreamed of showing in galleries. After a decade at Hallmark, I decided to focus on gallery work and commissions full time.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding part of being a professional artist is that I get to do what I love every day. I have an outlet for stress through the process of creation. I grow as a person every time I paint. I discover and reveal who I am. I enjoy sharing this gift through teaching others and have even offered mindful art retreats.
Of course there is gratification and validation when clients purchase work. It is not something that I take for granted. I appreciate all my galleries, designers, collectors and supporters over the years.

Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
When covid first hit, and businesses were shutting down everywhere, I started to question my relevance. For a moment I didn’t think I had anything to offer the world that made a difference. But then, I started to post something beautiful on social media each chance that I had. Whether it was a sunset or a flower or the way the light was shining on an object, I wanted to show that there still was beauty in this world and every once in a while, we need a distraction from day to day life.
As an artist, it brings me joy to share that with others. My work started to sell on social media from people noticing that. I believe in doing what you love, sharing with others and following your passion.
