We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Noel Obusan. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Noel below.
Noel, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Before we talk about all of your success, let’s start with a story of failure. Can you open up about a time when you’ve failed?
Back in 2016, I had just gotten laid off, I had dropped out of college, and pretty much had nothing going for me. I felt like the whole world was crumbling down. The only thing that motivated me was my family, I couldn’t give up on them. I wanted to make my parents proud, and not just that, but to help them out.
I knew I needed change and the one thing that help me get to where I am now is God. I remember to this day, I was sitting in my car 3am, crying, trying to figure out what O wanted to do with my life, and that’s when I finally asked for help. I told god whatever he sends my way, I’ll do it, I’ll say YES. And with that small action, it’s given me more than I can ask for.

Noel, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am Noel Obusan born and raised in Marikina, Philippines. I moved to the states when I was 10.
I now work as a contractor, shooting weddings, events, birthdays, whatever you need me to shoot, I got it.
What got me into creating (taking photos/videos) is because I’ve always been that guy who would film anything and everything. I wanted to capture those special moments that we could never get back. And there’s this quote that I love from Picasso that’s says, “the meaning of life is to find our gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.”

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
How you build an audience is by being yourself. Find what you’re good at it and what’s your Niche is the biggest thing. Learn from other, pick up new skills and grow from there. If you ever had a dream or vision, pursue it, not because that’s what’s meant for you but because that’s the road that would lead you to your purpose.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Social Media, if you’re not on social media then you’re 90% missing out on potential clients. I thought Facebook was dead, but then realized I’m missing out on the potential clients who are 40 and above. You can’t restrict yourself.
