We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Noe Brown. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Noe below.
Noe, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you manage your own social media?
Yes I do manage my own social media platforms. I did hire two remote assistants in the past but I found myself having to redo a lot of what was assigned to them anyways so I started doing it again myself. It is time consuming but at least I know I have put my heart and soul into it and the rewards of meeting wonderful people is priceless. It is also wonderfully rewarding to get collaborations through those platforms. I believe it wouldn’t happen any other way. If there is one thing however that I am looking into is Hootsuite and other similar apps that provide conveniency and more workflow ease in managing content.
Noe, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Introducing myself, Noë Heivanui Brown, a true global citizen with deep roots in Tahiti and Maui. Born in Tahiti, I have journeyed far and wide, calling places like Maui, Los Angeles, Massachusetts, and now New York my home. Despite my extensive travels, my heart remains tethered to the rich cultures and breathtaking landscapes of Tahiti and Maui.
Retiring as a Mental Health Therapist in 2019, I specialized in trauma-related conditions and primarily treated individuals with mood disorders, notably bipolar disorder. A new chapter unfolded as I moved to the Hamptons, where I fearlessly pursued a career as a real estate agent with Nest Seekers International. This bold transition was fueled by a strong intuition and favorable circumstances.
After my mother’s passing in the spring of 2019, I felt inspired to honor her by incorporating her name, Rose, into my globetrotting persona, hence “Noe Rose.” As fate would have it, I began reviewing Rosé wines, and people started affectionately referring to me as Noë Rosé. My mother’s dream was to travel the islands of the world and help orphans, and I hope to fulfill that dream one day through what I do.
Before long, my passion for travel transformed into an obsession, inspiring me to launch a travel blog/vlog. Driven by my empathy for those battling depression, I set out to empower others through the life-changing magic of exploration.
My journey is not a solo endeavor, as my two adorable Maltese dogs, Appa & Khaleesi, accompany me on every adventure. At two years old, these lovable companions share my enthusiasm for the great outdoors and have quickly become my most cherished travel buddies.
As a travel influencer working from home, I transcend borders and awaken the spirit of exploration in others. I weave the tapestry of cultures, landscapes, and experiences I encounter into an inspiring narrative. Through my unique perspective, I become a beacon of wanderlust, igniting the curiosity of countless souls and nurturing a global community united by the love for discovery, adventure, and the infinite wonders of our shared planet.
Join me on my mission to inspire and empower you through travel and exploration. Together, let’s embark on a journey to make a living while pursuing the passions that set our souls on fire, and in doing so, honor the dreams and legacies of those we hold dear.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I’ll start with 3 pieces of advice: 1- BE UNAPOLOGETICALLY YOURSELF and care about being human and just be courteous and kind to people, especially the ones that will hate on you. They usually hate because they wish they could do what you do and you can have a positive influence on them by showing them kindness and share with them that they can do it, just in their own way. Just be kind (to yourself and others).
2- Don’t do loops. The current profile I have is actually a remake. I used to @noerosetravels but that account got hacked when I participated in a loop and one of the participants sent me a link. I didn’t think about and clicked on the link and in an instant my account was blocked; Instagram banished it for not complying to guidelines. I appealed but never got in reinstated. On top of that, my applepay wallet got hacked. It was a complete nightmare. I had over 17k followers back then and I had to start over. It’s been over 2 years now.
3- Do what you love and love what you do!
I built my audience by focusing on one platform, Instagram. I started with asking for my family’s support, friends, and pretty soon it was a ripple effect. I also engage with my followers as much as possible. I repost other travel influencers posts and stories and I get curious about my most active followers.
I also post content relevant to my niche, Solo Travel off the beaten path and Island lifestyle. I collaborate with peers in my community so we can cross-promote. I am a huge advocate of collaboration and manifesting bigger through the power of collaborative and collective creation and support.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
I follow and get inspired and learn from 5 travel influencers that I religiously watch on YouTube: @lostleblanc
@whatthechic
@sorelleamore
@traveldeeper
@karaandnate
I am currently reading Reality Transurfing by Vadim Zeland and I always refer back “The 4-Hour Work Week” by Tim Ferris.
But I have read the following more than once or twice:
“Vagabonding” by Rolf Potts – This book encourages long-term travel and provides practical advice on how to make it happen.
“Lonely Planet’s Guide to Travel Photography” by Richard I’Anson – This book is a great resource for anyone who wants to improve their photography skills while traveling.
“The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho – While not specifically a travel book, this novel is about following your dreams and finding your place in the world, which can be particularly relevant for travel influencers.
And every once in while I love watching Eat, Pray, Love – that book always inspires me to travel more to discover more of myself and that feels so empowering to me. And I wish the same for everyone.
