We were lucky to catch up with Noble Holt recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Noble thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I really hope my legacy will be recognized as an individual who could capture life changing moments that can’t help but be remembered . I live to capture people in their natural authentic environment and evoke feelings of empathy and conscious awareness of “putting yourself in the shoes” of the actual image being seen. If it’s a wedding I’m shooting, I want you to feel as if you were on the guest list sharing those special moments with the bride and groom. If it’s a family portrait session, you’ll definitely want to print and hang up those moments of laughter and togetherness. If it’s a headshot session, i guarantee you’ll see “you” in a whole new type of light and say to yourself, “Man! that’s a great headshot!” This is what motivates me to keep shooting and keep networking, meeting as many beautiful souls as possible and taking advantage of every experience life has in store for me.
Noble, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I actually started out thinking photography was just a hobby. Nowhere in my mind did I think that you could make money and have a business in photography, but not only that, I never could imagine I would be the owner of my own actual business. I started out as shooting projects for my professor at Savannah State University on a Nexus 7 tablet. Talk about inexperienced, but my professor kept telling me I had some type of artistic perspective whenever I shot the things I shot. After that God placed people like my mentor Somi Benson-Jaja and Birk Herath in my life to show me that this career field was really meant for me. They actually taught me what it means to be a real photographer that expresses passion in their work. I honestly haven’t looked back since. I am a professional photographer that offers every type of photography you can think of. Assani Essentials Photography LLC offers Event Photography, Professional Headshots, Family Portraits, Birthday Sessions, Real Estate Photography, Branding Photography, Lifestyle Photography, Maternity Shoots, Food Photography, and so much more. What I have experienced working with clients and helping solve problems they may have is just patience and actually listening to their wants and needs. Make sure they have a hand in the process of whatever we are creating because although I’m the professional when it comes to capturing, they are still the ones with the original vision and they trusted me enough to capture whatever it is they may have needed me to capture for them, so inclusion is a must. That we we establish a pretty relationship and communication with each other as well. Thats what sets me apart from others. I’m most proud of my first destination wedding that I recently shot in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. It was the first wedding I had to shoot solo and let me tell you…..it was definitely a challenge!!! Just the running around and making sure I got the really vintage shots had me about to pass out from exhaustion, but i will tell you, it was one of the best experiences I have ever had in my life. The wedding itself was gorgeous, and the family and friends that attended the ceremony and reception made me feel extremely welcome. As for the pictures……They came out breathtaking!!!!! at least thats my opinion, and that could come off a bit biased haha. This is what i want potential clients to understand, taking pictures shouldn’t be nerve-wrecking or stressful. Capturing you and your memories should be just as beautiful as the finished product.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I’m currently living out my new journey as i’m typing this response. As a lot of people know, but for those who may not know, im based out of Savannah, Ga. I recently decided to take a leap of faith and move to New York and pursue my dream of becoming an even better photographer. I’ve been continuously networking and building clientele out here and I cannot lie it’s definitely been a blessing. Although I’m still transitioning, and steadily living the fears of being so far away from my family’s safety net and being so far away from my daughter, I still continue to be motivated that blessings will continue to come my way and i’ll truly be able to further expand my skillset but also experience things that will lay a ground foundation for me to build something truly impactful for me, my daughter, and the rest of my family and friends. That’s what keeps me motivated and steadily moving onward and upward……failure is not an option
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
I usually develop a kind of friendship with my clients that give them access to me any time they need assistance with a session, or just wants to pick my brain about stuff they need clarity on. It could range anywhere from wanting to book a 1 on 1 consultation, to them wanting to purchase their own camera and get into photography. I’m here for it all and as long as it’s positive and productive I will do whatever I can to assist in the growth of that individual. I’m still a student of life so even if I don’t have the concrete answer for whatever it is you may need, we’ll figure it out together.
