Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Noam Peri. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Noam, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I’ve been writing songs for as long as I can remember. I learned to write at a very young age and immediately used it as a tool for self-expression. Growing up, I often felt misunderstood, and writing songs became my way of processing and expressing emotions that I couldn’t articulate otherwise.
I also felt there was a lack of songs that reflected the way I and many others felt—songs that captured emotions of loneliness, struggle, or complexity in a way that truly resonated. That realization gave me a deep sense of purpose: I wanted to create music that would help others feel less alone, just as I hoped someone else would have done for me.
As I grew older, I taught myself to compose, sing, and play instruments, and I started transforming my private writings into full-fledged songs. For a long time, those creations remained in my drawer, hidden from others. But eventually, I leaped—I began performing and releasing my music, and that’s when I realized this was my life’s calling.
Choosing music as my path wasn’t something I always envisioned, especially since I kept my creative side private for so long. But once I decided to share it with the world, it became clear to me that this is where I truly belong.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m an indie rock, alt-rock, and pop-rock artist. My music blends the sounds of 70s rock with modern electronic touches, creating songs that explore heartbreak, relationships, and the challenges of real life.
My lyrics are often cryptic and intimate, inviting listeners to connect with the deeper emotions behind each song. I aim to make everyone feel seen and heard, especially within the LGBTQ+ community. Music is my way of sharing raw, personal stories and building connections.
I began my musical journey in Israel, where I released my first EP in Hebrew, which gained significant success. Now, I’m working on a new EP in English, with three singles already released.
You can find my songs on all major streaming platforms, and if you’d like to follow my journey, feel free to connect with me on Instagram! Beyond music, I’m also a poet, always searching for ways to channel my thoughts and emotions into meaningful art.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The greatest achievement of being an artist, in my opinion, is the ability to touch people’s lives while overcoming the fears and doubts that come with creating. There’s something profoundly rewarding about knowing that the songs I writh can resonate with someone on the other side of the world. To think that my personal emotions, struggles, and stories could bring comfort, inspire strength, or simply make someone feel understood is a connection I never take for granted.
But that connection doesn’t come easily. Being an artist means constantly facing fear—fear of judgment, fear of vulnerability, fear of not being enough. Releasing music or standing on stage is an act of courage, exposing the deepest parts of yourself to the world. Overcoming those fears is what allows me to truly reach people. I’ve learned that the more honest and raw I allow myself to be, the stronger the connection with my audience becomes.
For me, the beauty lies in that cycle: confronting my fears, pouring them into my music, and seeing how they can touch someone else’s heart. Whether it’s a song about heartbreak or self-discovery, the thought that my vulnerability could give someone else the courage to face their own challenges is the most meaningful reward of all. In that sense, every time I overcome my own doubts and release a piece of myself into the world, I feel like I’ve achieved something truly remarkable.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
I believe that one thing people may not fully understand is the depth and power that writing holds as a tool for the soul. Writing, especially when it comes to personal expression like poetry or lyrics, is not just a means of communication—it’s a way to process and understand your emotions. There’s something incredibly powerful about taking your feelings, your confusing thoughts, and your pain, and turning them into words. Through words, you can reach deep within yourself and sometimes understand things you wouldn’t have without expressing them.
What many people don’t realize is that writing can be a form of healing, not just an outlet. It allows people to confront their inner struggles and connect with others. Often, when I write, I’m not just expressing myself; I know that someone else might feel it, find something that speaks to them, and feel less alone. That’s a power that comes from the words themselves.
But it’s hard to understand this unless you try to write your own emotions. You don’t need to be a writer or a poet to do this. Anyone can take what they’re feeling, put it on paper, and start to make sense of it. You don’t have to be a professional writer to find meaning in writing or to feel its power.
