Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Noah The Great. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Noah, appreciate you joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
BlazerMade is a marketplace that I created to showcase young black creatives and entrepreneurs in my community. It originally started as a project and grew into pop up shops and showcases. After our first pop up shop, the people in the community loved the idea of having a safe space specifically for us, by us. It became like a one stop shop for business owners looking to connect with like minded individuals and also for consumers looking to buy black and support the cause.

Noah, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m a young creative from Atl, Ga. I was originally on the scene from making music that later on inspired me to start my clothing brand called Goin Ghost Apparel. From there I began participating in various pop up shops and started networking with other brand owners and creatives. I have been apart of a lot of the main events for creatives in South Georgia I’m the past few years and recently moved my businesses out to Phoenix, Arizona to rebrand and expand. Now I have 2 brands of my own and manage 2 others, which is what brought BlazerMade to life. BlazerMade marketplace was a way to bring all of my endeavors together by providing marketing, product management, and merchandising to my brands and others while also creating a one stop shop for buying black. Through BlazerMade I am able to help small brands grow and share the knowledge that I’ve gained over time.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
There have been plenty setbacks especially since the pandemic. I recently uprooted and moved the business out to Phoenix, Arizona. We decided to start over with and rebrand which meant new brands and new clients. Right now we are pretty fresh out here and still trying to figure it all out. BlazerMade went from featuring over 12 different brands all over Georgia and Florida to now only featuring 3 brands and 2 are my own. I believe that right now is a time a resilience for us because it’s always easy to pack up shop and give up. We decided to keep going and we predict to be featuring well over 10 brands including artists and other creative services by the end of the year.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One thing that I have had to unlearn in the process of starting my business is the idea of doing everything for a profit. I have come to realize that I am in this business to help my people, even if that means missing out on a profit. I have learned to put purpose over the paper.
