We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Noah St John a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Noah thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
My mission as Coldsaint is to inspire individuals to turn their tragedies into triumphs. Through my music and advocacy, I aim to empower others to take control of their adversities, find their inner strength, and create solutions. I believe that by embracing our challenges, we can grow and achieve personal empowerment, leading to a journey of triumph and success. This is meaningful to me because as a kid I was battling several problems and it all seemed to feel hopeless. My mother was sick at the time with cancer, we were enduring abuse from multiple stepfathers over the years and alcoholism was prevalent in our home. And now I’m doing what I love and I’m finding success in doing so, and arguably it wouldnt have been possible if it weren’t for the trials and tribulations I faced.
Noah, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
a musician driven by the mantra “tragedy to triumph.” Before diving into the music industry, my journey with music started early. I began making music at the tender age of 10, experimenting with sounds and melodies. It wasn’t until I was 15 that I took a leap of faith and entered my high school talent show. Despite only making it to the finals by one vote, I ultimately won by a landslide. That victory ignited a fire within me, motivating me to pursue my passion for music wholeheartedly. My journey into the industry began when I stumbled upon the STALE Movement at 17, where I honed my craft through weekly trials and errors. I’m proud to offer music that speaks to resilience and hope, aiming to inspire others facing adversity. My music serves as a lifeline for those navigating tough times, providing a message of empowerment and strength. What sets me apart is my authenticity and commitment to storytelling. I’m most proud of connecting with listeners on a deeper level, resonating with them through shared experiences and emotions. I want potential fans to know that my music isn’t just about entertainment; it’s about transformation and empowerment.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I built my social media following through consistent engagement and authentic storytelling. I shared my journey, struggles, and triumphs with my audience, creating a genuine connection. Posting regularly, interacting with followers, and collaborating with other artists helped me gradually grow my presence across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Snapchat. Leveraging performances, music releases, radio campaigns, spotify campaigns and collaborations also attracted new followers and expanded my reach.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
The day I came across the STALE Movement which was a program for independent artists such as myself to learn the business of music and hone their craft on and off the stage. It was only when I found that program that I started to see the music industry as what it is, which is MUCH more than just music. It is a business.
