We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Noah Sharpe a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Noah, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
When i was 21 i was a server in a small town in Northern California. I played sports my entire life yet after injury and life’s hardship i found myself living a life that few would call mentally or physically healthy. After a severe back injury i found myself at ground zero with my fitness and wanted to find my way back to my strength so i started truly dedicated my self to the gym through training and boxing and slowly but surely the gym became a pillar of my life. With what started as a hobbie, transitioned into a lifestyle and I decided i wanted make it a career in the biggest place possible, Los Angeles. In that same small town, i gave my notice to my apartment, quit my serving job, and with zero job prospects and a PT Cert i had only passed 48 hours before, i packed the Uhaul and headed to LA. I bugged the local 24 Hour Fitness for weeks until i could get a interview and i believe it was annoyance more than anything but finally i got my first PT job. I worked and worked and finally had a great flow of clients and BAM, Covid shutdowns. For alot of people the story might end there, and for me it almost did. 6 months into shutdowns and almost no savings left, I get a email about a private facility under construction next door. I hesistantly make a meeting with the owners where i find out, oh here you pay rent to work, did i mention the almost no savings left? I knew if i went back to a desk job I’d be giving up so i went all in. Week 1, one client, week 2 another. 2 1/2 years later im a six figure business owner with a trainer working under me. GO ALL IN
Noah, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a certified Personal Trainer, Performance Enhancement Specialist, and Nutrition Coach. I work with a variety of clients from atheletes to actors to teachers! I believe in helping real people get real results regardless of the goal. Some of my teams core values is to go above and beyond and to lead from the front and thats what i believe sets us apart in how we train. We believe in adopting our clients goals and always going the extra mile to help people not only in our training, but in the way we lead through example. Whether its fat loss or training for a marathon, we know we’ll do whatever it takes so that our clients succeed. Everyone has potential to choose greatness for themselves in their life and in their health and we do our best to bring that out of people.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
My most growth as always been when i focus on giving the best customer experience, one client at a time. When growing a business and clientele it’s easy to get swept up into things and start to let customer experience fall to the way side. Treating each client like the most important client has always done wonders not only for client retention, but also word of mouth referrals. Making people feel seen and supported goes farther than we know.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
My biggest jumps in social media has always come from A) collaborating with other creators & B)Consistent posting. Collabing with others allows you to share each others audiences and get in front of new people. Consistent posting is what you hear most about from the social media masters like Gary Vee or Alex Hormozi and theres a reason for that! Putting out content on a daily basis that showcases your work and allows people to get to know, you constantly have that attention and also it builds trust with your audience!
