We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Noah Kwon a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Noah thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
I am currently embarking on the launch of a brand named NOAH, a health and wellness-focused tea brand set to debut in just a few months. This endeavor is not just a business but a personal journey rooted in a deep-seated passion for holistic well-being.
To understand the genesis of NOAH, we need to go back to my early days. I came into this world prematurely, marked by a fragile start and an array of underlying health conditions. In those formative years, my reliance on natural healing methods, such as Eastern medicine, intentional dietary choices, and regular exercise, was paramount. My father, an acupuncturist and herbalist, instilled in me the profound healing potential of ancient traditional medicine from our homeland.
As life unfolded, I made a significant move, traversing to the other side of the country to pursue a career as an architectural designer in the bustling New York City. Like many who flock to the city that never sleeps, I found myself caught up in the relentless pace of urban life. Amid the chaos, I lost touch with my physical and mental well-being.
This compelled me to seek out a daily ritual to anchor me in the whirlwind of city life. I naturally gravitated toward herbal tea. Its soothing, nurturing qualities provided solace and became the spark that ignited the vision for NOAH.
Right now, I’m in the middle of my creative process pouring countless hours into areas where I feel most comfortable and well-developed. I’m also diving headfirst into logistics, acquiring knowledge and expertise as I progress. What drives me forward is the profound sense of purpose and conviction I have. I am not merely launching a brand; I am creating a vessel for individuals with hectic lifestyles to rediscover their inner vitality through the ancient method of healing.
Of course, the journey ahead is rife with uncertainty, but I can’t wait to witness the unfolding of this passion project. I’m confident that NOAH will not only be a brand but a source of well-being and inspiration for many.

Noah, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
From the tender age of 5, I was naturally spatially aware. While other children played dress-up with dolls or drew pictures of their favorite animals, I was rearranging Barbie’s furniture and sketching floor plans of my imaginary homes.
Thus, I pursued a degree in architectural design to transform my childhood fascination into a lifelong career while my environment played a pivotal role in shaping my vision and values.
I had the privilege of being raised by an acupuncturist and herbalist of a father. I witnessed his clients enter his clinic with various ailments and emerge, healed and revitalized. These clients, predominantly Korean, had an innate deep-rooted trust in Eastern medicine. Now, I want to bring the benefits of natural healing to a wider audience, including Westerners and younger generations.
This aspiration led me to create NOAH. NOAH specializes in Korean herbal teas crafted from roots, flowers, and fruits, in contrast to the caffeine-laden dried leaves commonly associated with tea. Our herbal teas are caffeine-free yet possess the unique ability to invigorate while simultaneously reducing stress and anxiety, offering a holistic approach to well-being.
I am bridging the gap between ancient Eastern healing practices and modern Western lifestyles through NOAH. NOAH will be a conduit that introduces a new generation to the natural, time-tested remedies that have long been cherished in Eastern cultures.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My goal is to craft spaces that transcend mere physical structures, where people from diverse backgrounds can come together and connect. These spaces are not defined by discrimination or exclusivity but are instead designed to foster relationships based on shared interests, passions, and common bonds.
This all started during my study abroad in Berlin, where I designed a project now showcased on my website, noahkwon.com. The space I created envisions a safe haven for women to come together and build meaningful relationships. NOAH is the first building block to bring that original project to life.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I believe everyone is an artist in their own way; however, it is about discovering the right mediums to express your creativity. For me, this journey becomes most fulfilling when I can seamlessly bring together various creative outlets to materialize a vision exactly as I’ve envisioned it.
Having the ability to trust my creative instincts and wield my chosen mediums effectively is incredibly satisfying. Whether it’s shaping the tone and identity of my brand, crafting visuals that effectively convey its essence, or fine-tuning the intricate balance of flavors in a blend, I find great joy in knowing how to harness these creative tools. It’s like having a palette of colors and knowing exactly how to paint and blend them into a masterpiece.
