We recently connected with Noah Densmore and have shared our conversation below.
Noah, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
Learning your craft takes time. I started filming weddings in 2019 and I still am continually changing and perfecting my approach to this craft. I’ve taken a few online courses over the years which have also helped out tremendously in the beginning stages too! I think one thing that could have helped speed up my learning process is to shadow other great professionals in the industry. A skill that I think is most essential for this work is a relentless drive and work ethic to succeed because it will be incredibly hard at times but if you can outlast the storms and make it through then you will be successful. I think the main obstacle that stands in the way of learning more is simply dedicating time out of your schedule to do so!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I got into wedding videography randomly, by chance! I filmed my first wedding in 2019 and loved the process! Every wedding and every couple since then has been so unique, so it makes for a fun challenge to try and weave together a story out of the day each time. The videography and shooting aspects have always come naturally to me, but the business side was a whole new world for me! I’d seen other people succeed in this industry and told myself, “If this person can make it and be successful then why can’t I?” That ultimately gave me the drive and determination to turn this into a full-time business.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I think what helped me build my reputation in the wedding videography space is simply showing up with a smile on my face to have fun and do great work! I video people on one of the BEST days of their lives so it only seems fair that I should match their energy to be excited for them!
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been a mixture of two main things:
1. Building local connections to other vendors in the area (Venues, Planners and Photographers)
2. Posting quality content on social media
