Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Noah Ballingham. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Noah, thanks for joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
How I Turned My Pain Into My Passion: The Journey Behind Formula Stretch
March 2018: I was a stubborn high school athlete, always pushing my limits and lifting heavy. At that time, I believed that the heavier the weight, the stronger I’d become. That mindset led to my first lower back injury. I brushed it off, thinking I could bounce back quickly. But it was my first real lesson in how the body can rebel if not taken care of properly.
March 2022: After years of rehab, countless hours of physical therapy, and a lot of grit, I had finally worked my way back to squatting 315 pounds. It felt like I had conquered my past injuries and proven to myself that I could push through anything. But just when I thought I was in the clear, my lower back gave out again in December 2022, just eight days into the 75 Hard program. I didn’t let it stop me—I completed the program through sheer willpower. But deep down, I knew I was setting myself up for more pain.
May 2023: That breaking point came when I herniated my L5-S1, one of the most serious injuries I’d ever faced. I was sidelined for two months, completely frustrated by my body’s limitations. The pain was constant, and I couldn’t do the things I loved. It was a wake-up call: years of strain, pushing my body without giving it the care and mobility it needed, had finally caught up to me. I knew something had to change.
July 2023: That’s when I discovered assisted stretching. The science behind it blew me away. For the first time, I found a method that wasn’t just about recovering from an injury—it was about preventing future ones, improving mobility, and enhancing overall body performance. It transformed my life in a way that years of traditional rehab couldn’t. I started to recover faster and move better than ever before.
December 2023: After months of dedicated work, I was finally fully recovered from my herniated disc. I was pain-free, stronger than I’d ever been, and most importantly, I had learned how to take care of my body properly. But this journey wasn’t just about healing myself—it ignited a passion in me to help others avoid the same struggles I went through. That’s how Formula Stretch was born.
Today, the mission of Formula Stretch is to help others feel the way I do now: pain-free, strong, and mobile. I turned my pain into my passion, and my goal is to ensure that no one else has to go through the frustration and limitations I once faced. Through assisted stretching, I help people recover, prevent injury, and unlock their body’s full potential—so they can keep pushing their limits without fear of being sidelined.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Noah Ballingham, the founder of Formula Stretch, a business dedicated to helping people move better, feel better, and live without pain through assisted stretching. My journey into this industry is rooted in my own personal experience with injury and recovery. As a former high school athlete, I suffered several back injuries that taught me firsthand how important proper care, mobility, and recovery are for overall health and performance. After years of struggling with recurring back pain and eventually a herniated disc, I discovered the power of assisted stretching. It completely transformed my recovery process and sparked a passion in me to share that transformation with others.
At Formula Stretch, we offer personalized one-on-one assisted stretching sessions. We are mobile in the greater Phoenix area and are currently partnered with Rumble Boxing Gilbert and D1 Training East Mesa offering their members 30 Minute Sessions. We are also expanding to corporate wellness settings as well doing on-site sessions. Our goal is to help clients recover from pain, prevent injury, and improve their overall mobility and flexibility. Whether you’re an athlete trying to enhance performance, a busy professional dealing with stress and tension, or someone recovering from an injury like I did, we have the expertise and techniques to help.
What sets us apart is our commitment to personalized care. We don’t offer cookie-cutter solutions. Every session is tailored to meet the specific needs of our clients, whether that’s increasing range of motion, relieving muscle tension, or improving posture. We focus on education as much as we do on treatment, so our clients walk away not just feeling better, but with a deeper understanding of how to care for their bodies moving forward.
One of the things I’m most proud of is our ability to create real, lasting change for people. I’ve seen clients come in frustrated with chronic pain or limited mobility and leave feeling revitalized and empowered. That’s the most rewarding part of what I do.
For potential clients, I want them to know that Formula Stretch is more than just a service — it’s a pathway to long-term well-being. We’re passionate about helping people move without pain, perform at their best, and live healthier, happier lives. My own journey of overcoming injury and discovering the power of proper recovery drives everything we do. I know firsthand how transformative assisted stretching can be. I’m excited to share that with every company and individual we will work with.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
One of the most significant resources that has impacted my entrepreneurial journey is Andy Frisella’s MFCEO Project podcast. It was a game-changer for me, especially during a pivotal moment in my life. When I took my first major risk and moved to Michigan to work for a wholesaling real estate company, I started listening to the podcast from the very first episode on my road trip. Andy’s raw, no-nonsense approach to business, leadership, and personal development shifted my mindset. It taught me how to embrace challenges, take ownership of my actions, and build the discipline necessary to succeed in both business and life. That podcast set the foundation for how I view leadership and resilience.
Another major influence has been $100M Offers by Alex Hormozi. This book was instrumental in shaping how I think about crafting offers that are irresistible to clients. Hormozi’s framework helped me understand the psychology behind creating value and positioning my services in a way that truly resonates with customers. It has been a key component in developing Formula Stretch’s business model, especially as I work on expanding our corporate wellness program.
Additionally, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill has had a huge impact on my mindset and philosophy. Hill’s principles about the power of belief, persistence, and having a clear vision for success have guided me throughout my entrepreneurial journey. The idea that your mindset and thoughts are the foundation of achieving success resonated with me deeply, and it’s a philosophy I carry with me as I continue to grow my business.
Each of these resources has contributed to my management philosophy: focusing on discipline, consistency, and providing undeniable value. They’ve helped shape the way I approach not just my business, but how I lead and grow personally as well.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
One of the most defining moments in my journey of resilience came when I decided to take on the 75 Hard program for the first time. For those who don’t know, 75 Hard is more than just a fitness challenge — it’s a mental toughness program that demands discipline and consistency. I was determined to complete it, but it didn’t take long for the real tests to show up.
Just eight days into the program, I re-injured my lower back — the same area I’d struggled with for years. At that moment, I had every reason to quit. I was in pain, and it felt like I was right back at square one with an injury that had already derailed my progress in the past. But I made a decision. I wasn’t going to let this setback stop me. I adjusted my workouts, kept moving, and stayed committed to the daily habits that the program required.
Around Day 35, things got even tougher when I developed tendonitis in my Achilles. Now, not only was my lower back acting up, but my Achilles was slowing me down as well. I had two injuries that could have easily been my excuse to stop, but again, I refused to give in. I modified my workouts to accommodate the pain, focusing on what I could do rather than what I couldn’t. I kept moving forward, day by day, grinding through each workout, even when it wasn’t pretty.
Through all the physical pain, the mental battle was the hardest. I had to fight the urge to quit every single day. But that’s what 75 Hard is really about — it’s not just the physical endurance; it’s about building the mental toughness to push through any obstacle. And that’s exactly what I did. Despite my injuries, I completed all 75 days.
Finishing 75 Hard taught me that resilience is about finding a way forward, no matter how difficult the circumstances. That experience solidified my belief that anything is possible with the right mindset and determination. It showed me that I could handle more than I ever thought, and that lesson has stuck with me in everything I’ve done since — from my personal fitness journey to building Formula Stretch. No matter what life throws at you, there’s always a way to adapt, push through, and come out stronger on the other side.
